7 winter foodie events to add to your calendar

As Brissie cools downs, events only get hotter…

From twilight harvest dinners to champagne igloos, there’s just something special about winter foodie events in Brisbane! For a season that’s hotter than the inside of a calzone out of the wood-fired oven, add these events to your calendar (and maybe take a jacket). 

Regional Flavours – Grazed and Grown | South Bank | June 18-20

Regional Flavours is returning in a new format when the first of three weekend-long events, Grazed and Grown, sprouts up in South Bank from Friday, June 18!

As well as a marketplace with produce and products sourced from within 250km of Brissie, plenty to eat and drink from pop-up stalls, bars and The Country Club pop-up bar, and live entertainment including talks and demos by leading chefs, there’ll be four signature events for night and day to spice things up! The Winter Village | Northshore Hamilton | June 3-August 29

You don’t have to splash out for a southern holiday to enjoy a snowy escape complete with an ice skating rink, igloo village, snow showers and food and drink pop-ups!

The Winter Village is serving up skate and brunch packages, food trucks (we see you, mac and cheese croquettes), and private igloos with food and drink packages including spritzes, fried chicken and hot espresso martini fudge sauce! Learn more about The Winter Village here.

Scenic Rim Eat Local Week | June 26-July 4

Jump in the car and head out west for this massive celebration of Brisbane’s local primary producers! There are so many events scheduled for the week, from long table lunches to tastings and markets. Can’t pick one? The Winter Harvest Festival is always a great day out, with producers, suppliers, retailers and chefs from across the region offering tasting plates, wines and fresh produce to take home. Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival | July 30-August 1

A favourite annual event on the Brisbane foodie calendar, the MBFWF is back in 2021 with a fresh sun-soaked program and plenty to sink your teeth into! 

The launch event of the six-week Tastes of Moreton Bay program, Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival will see flavours from around the Moreton Bay region celebrated at the waterside Apex Park, at Woody Point. Head here to plan your visit.

Veuve Clicquot In The Snow | Customs House | From June 3

Customs House’s pop-up bar is back with those Insta-worthy igloos in tow! Pop bottles at Veuve Clicquot In The Snow, and settle in to a cosy riverside setting with Moreton Bay bug rolls, scampi caviar blini with crème frâiche, whole baked brie with crostini, smoked duck rillettes and more! Flight of the Senses | Living Room Bar at W Brisbane | Ongoing

For a little taste of London nightlife, head to the funky lobby bar at the W Brisbane to sample their collaboration menu with East London’s Oriole Bar! Devised by the award-winning team, the 15 cocktails are inspired by tastes, colours and ingredients from the farthest reaches of the globe and featuring unexpected ingredients like tomatoes, corn and azalea! Fresh Wine Festival | City Winery | June 6

Join City Winery for an afternoon celebrating all things locally made wine! As well as unlimited samples of their Gerler wines and drops by Bent Road and Konpira Maru, three new Gerler pet-nats will be launched and ready for toasting, and there’ll be live entertainment and food by City Winery’s chefs! Tickets are $35 and available here.
