BRISBANE’S TINY DOORS | VARIOUS LOCATIONS

I’m sure by now you would have heard of the tiny red doors hidden in a couple of Brissie’s best spots, but that’s just the beginning. Even the artist Mace Roberston who placed them around the city has forgotten where they all are! So no need to waste money on treasure hunts, grab the kids and hunt down all the tiny doors you can! You’ll be able to find these irresistibly cute fairy doors hidden in Fish Lane, South Brisbane, Burnett Lane, Edward Street, Bakery Lane and Winn Lane. This activity is definitely not limited by age, after all, who doesn’t love mini things?

APRES SKI | KING ST

Brisbane is abound with thick coats, puffers and boots as soon as winter ticks around and why the hell not? It may not be snowing or below zero but it’s still cold for us! Warm the cockles of your hearts and enjoy a family meal with the winter warmers on offer with King St’s Apres Ski special these holidays. Try the lamb ragout gnocchi from Kuhl-Cher or the lip-smacking mac and cheese bites from Super Combo, satisfying adults and children alike.

MUSEUM OF BRISBANE | SOUTH BRISBANE

The Museum of Brisbane has always got something goin’ on! These holidays they have three new cost-free walk-through collections including The Local and Making Place: 100 views of Brisbane focusing on Brissie’s urban changes and community culture over the years. If you want to get the creative juices flowing, their Clay exhibition has inspired some pretty funky activities that will entertain any age. From collages and detective activities for kids, to screen-printing and sewing classes for teens, there’s something for everyone. Psst… this is a good one for a budget and you won’t need to skimp on the fun! Check out their website to see the full rundown and book a spot.

MONET IN PARIS | NORTHSHORE BRISBANE

This immersive experience will transport you to impressionist Paris, paying tribute to Claude Monet and other mid-19th-century artists in an otherworldly way using digital technology. The exhibition features an array of surfaces, audio, visuals and scents for people to experience the art on an epic level. To experience this magnitude of colour, make sure you secure tickets from their website – this is certainly not one to miss!

HIJINX HOTEL | CHERMSIDE

Leave your bags, but bring your brainpower as you work through a collection of five different challenge rooms that’ll excite the young and the young at heart. Rubik’s cubes, musical games, and even a Titanic-themed room, this Chermside-set abode is the perfect school holiday activity. It’s probably best to book for this one too as spots may be limited.

ICE SKATING | ACACIA RIDGE & BOONDALL

They even have penguin balancers available for young kids.

With two Brissie locations to choose from in either Acacia Ridge or Boondall, you can try your hand on the ice without jetting off to a ski resort. Just make sure to book as they have limited spots available.

JUNGLE ADVENTURE | TINGALPA

It’s Brisbane’s best indoor play centre for a reason. With a ninja course, climbing walls, trampolines, mini golf, high rope courses and playgrounds the kids certainly won’t be bored. And with a fully-licensed cafe, parents can either relax as their kids play or join in on the fun! The centre would be perfect for competitive friends or a family outing. Book a session so you can put your coordination and skills to the test although you might find you’re a bit out of practice…
