People's choice: The top 12 Easter eggs to devour this year

Easter or not, chocolate is always the answer.

With Easter just around the corner, we’ve put together a definitive list of the best Easter eggs around – as voted by our G&G readers!

You’re welcome!

Lindt…every kind

If you’re after a subtle hint of luxury, you can’t go wrong with Lindt. With every flavour of chocolate available and collections like Artisan, Excellence, and of course the Lindt classics we all know and love, treat yourself with some of Switzerland’s finest.

Because it’s Easter, make sure you pick up one (or more, we don’t judge) of the iconic Lindt bunnies (and some eggs!) to have you hopping happy.

Cadbury Dairy Milk

Whoever said basic is boring hasn’t experienced good basics (looking at you vanilla haters). For the true classic fans among us, Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is the way to go. Sweet, creamy, and simple – everything you want in an Easter egg.

Keep everyone in the family happy this Easter by stocking up.

Cadbury Turkish Delight

Turkish Delight chocolate is a storyteller’s dream, taking the legend of Turkish delight (we get it Edmund, we really do) and wrapping it up in delightfully Wonka-esque packaging. Turkish delight and Cadbury chocolate is a match in heaven for those with a super sweet tooth – and in egg form they’re downright irresistible.

Kinder Surprise

The favourite of kids everywhere, and it’s not hard to understand why. Milk chocolate? Check. White chocolate? Check. A toy inside? ABSOLUTELY CHECK. While the Kinder Easter eggs and bunnies don’t have a toy inside, the regular treats do, so spoil the little ones in your life this Easter and just buy both. You won’t regret it.

Red Tulip solid eggs

If you are planning an Easter hunt this year, Red Tulip solid eggs are the way to go. Solid milk chocolate wrapped in shiny coloured foil, perfect for catching the light of the Easter morning sun. Pure magic!

Darrell Lea speckled eggs

If you grew up with a Darrell Lea store near you, you’d remember how special their chocolate is. Though the physical stores are all but gone (and fondly missed), you can still get your hands on their products through other retailers.

The speckled eggs are the best for Easter celebrations (in our opinion), so crack through that crunchy outer candy shell and indulge in smooth Australian-owned chocolate.

Malteser eggs…and bunnies!

Nothing pleases like Maltesers, and Easter is no exception. With a creamy chocolate outer layer and crispy malted milk centres, it’s no surprise Malteser eggs (and bunnies) are a crowd favourite. Be sure to stock up on these little guys before they disappear for another year!

Cadbury Crunchie

This one is definitely your dad’s favourite chocolate, and who can blame him. Milk chocolate with a honeycomb toffee centre makes Crunchie a textural adventure (watch your teeth!) for the old souls among us.

Cadbury Humpty Dumpty egg

What’s better than chocolate at Easter? More chocolate! And this year, we’re bringing back the nostalgia with the Humpty Dumpty egg. This milk chocolate egg has candy-coated chocolate beanies inside, perfect for the diehard choco-holics.

Cadbury Creme Eggs

Easter is the time for eggs, and you can’t get anymore eggy than Cadbury Creme Eggs. Filled with a sweet fondant-like filling coloured yellow and white to resemble an egg yolk, this one is an icon. Have a “goo” time with your loved ones and a bag of these this Easter.

Ferrero Rocher

Ferrero Rocher is synonymous with luxury, and when it comes to Easter chocolate, they really know how to blow us away. The combination of crisp milk chocolate wafer egg with smooth hazelnut filling is to die for.

Individually wrapped and sealed in a bag, it’s the perfect gift for someone you love this Easter.

Cadbury Caramello

Whether you have it in Easter egg form (the best way) or in the form of the classic Koala, Caramello will always be a favourite. Nothing beats taking that first bite and racing to lick up the oozing caramel before it drips down your chin.

Fingers crossed the Easter bunny brings us some of these next month.
