The ultimate dining guide to Portside Wharf

Good food with even better views. Welcome to Portside Wharf.

A foodie mecca if we’ve ever seen one, Portside Wharf is up there amongst Brisbane’s best dining precincts. With absolute waterfront views, Portside Wharf offers an eclectic and sophisticated mix of fine dining and casual eats, entertainment, and retail.

Come along as we take you through our ultimate dining guide to this amazing precinct.

FOR THE GOURMET

Mr and Mrs Jones

If you’re looking for the perfect spot to unwind after a long day, Mr and Mrs Jones has you covered. Swing by and shake off the week in style at this chic European inspired bar, with an impressive international wine list and cocktails so good you’ll want to try them all.

To make the deal even sweeter, pair your beverage with one of the superb share plates on offer. We recommend the mushroom arancini with truffle aioli – for obvious reasons.

Byblos Bar and Restaurant

Take a trip to the Mediterranean with a night out at Byblos Bar and Restaurant. With an imaginative line up of authentic Lebanese cuisine and an exotic cocktail list, Byblos is an excellent spot for a midweek catch up, Friday drinks, or a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

For the full Byblos experience (paired with a cocktail), we recommend giving the mezza banquet a whirl – featuring traditional Kebbi, Faafael, Kafta Meshwi and more.

Gusto da Gianni

Gusto da Gianni is an Italian dining experience like no other. Immerse yourself in traditional cuisine with Gusto’s decadent menu of high end Italian favourites including the show-stopping gnocchi al funghi porcini with truffle cream.

Each dish on the menu is complimented perfectly with a glass of wine from Gusto’s extensive list – just ask a member of the team for their recommendations.

Put it this way, it’s the kind of Italian restaurant our Nonna’s would love, so it gets a big tick from us.

Sono Japanese Restaurant

There’s a reason why Sono Japanese Restaurant is one of Brisbane’s finest, and it’s almost impossible to pass up an opportunity to dine here while visiting Portside Wharf.

With their impressive à la carte and wine-paired tasting menus, featuring tuna and kingfish sashimi topped with passionfruit jelly (yum!) and the excitement of the Teppanyaki bar, Sono is Portside Wharf’s slice of Japanese heaven that we can’t get enough of.

Belvedere Bar n Grill

In the mood to be wined and dined? It’s time to make a reservation at one of Brisbane’s most sophisticated steakhouses, Belvedere Bar n Grill.

Sink your teeth into fresh and succulent steak, chicken, or fish, complete with a glass of wine. And if you’re feeling adventurous, tackle Belvedere’s epic 1kg Wagyu rump cap, served alongside premium waterfront views.

FOR THE GOURMAND

Bamboo Basket

For some of the best handmade dumplings this side of Shanghai, it’s hard to go past Bamboo Basket.

The restaurant specialises in Southern and Northern Chinese cuisine, and believe us, it is well worth a visit. Watch the chefs in the glass kitchen toll, fill and pinch a variety of dumplings to absolute perfection, and treat yourself to traditional dishes like spicy Kong Po chicken, fried rice with barbeque pork and prawn, Mongolian beef, and their roast duck pancakes that are seriously out of this world.

Ginga Sushi Bar and Dining

The ideal lunch and dinner spot for friends and families alike, Ginga Sushi Bar and Dining is a precinct favourite. Pull up a seat at the sushi train where you can indulge in all your favourites, including a variety of Nigiri, Sashimi and Aburi options, or opt for the à la carte menu and experience Japanese specialty dishes like Yakiniku Beef (which, we’ve been told will change your life!).

Aamaya Indian Restaurant

For those looking to indulge in a hearty and flavoursome Indian feast by the river, look no further. Aamaya Indian Restaurant not only serves some of Brisbane’s best Indian food, they’re also family friendly and the perfect spot for dinner with a large group.

Subway

Strapped for time? Subway has your back. With a wide range of healthy sandwiches, wraps and salads made fresh daily onsite, tucking into a healthy (and filling) lunch is easy. Better still, grab one of their classic cookies to satisfy that sweet tooth.
