Brisbane’s Spring Bucket List

Hold our spritz, we’re going in!

While it may be too late to sip into spring, there are still plenty of occasions to savour the (mostly) fine weather. Before you let the end of year blues settle in, here are the top foodie adventures to devour right here in Brissy.

Chandon Spritz Garden at Customs House | from October 27

Zesty, blooming, and lush with florals – that’s what Customs House’s Chandon Spritz Garden is all about. The historic building’s latest seasonal pop-up sees the return of its signature Moreton Bay bug croissant, and we wouldn’t dream of going through spring without one. Expect classic sips like zingy margaritas, espresso martinis, and fruity spritzes with Chandon’s finest drop. Make your way to the river, there’s a garden party to be had.

Global Fusion at On Point QB | October 29 and November 19

Over at On Point QB, culture and cuisine are colliding with a share-style banquet as Global Fusion India takes over the Thomas Dixon Centre. In celebration of Diwali, the next Global Fusion event on Saturday, October 29 showcases Indian flavours with pumpkin and toasted almond samosas and tandoori chicken skewers with mango chutney. Fear not if October’s calendar is already full, Global Fusion will travel again in late November to Cuba.

Seafood Festival at The Prince Consort | October 30

In a fishy edition of The Prince Consort’s blooming Spring Fling, the iconic space will be transformed into a hub for local seafood vendors to share their products and industry knowledge. Swim through on Sunday, October 30 to sample succulent sashimi, prawns and more. The Seafood Festival is free to enter, so this event is perfect to grab your friends and family for a breezy outing.

Rosé Revolution Bottomless Brunch at Billykart | October 30

If you’re after something a little more boozy this weekend, the Rosé Revolution party is ramping up for a bottomless brunch at Billykart in Fish Lane. Expect refreshing sips like rosé slushies and mimosas paired with its elevated brunch menu. Your $85 ticket grants you a feast of buffalo mozzarella atop grilled sourdough, churrasco roasted pork loin and much more. Viva la rosé revolution!

Melbourne Cup at Riverbar + Kitchen | November 1

You may notice a bit of an aqua theme here, but who could pass up the riverside in springtime? Riverbar + Kitchen has officially reopened, and just in time for the Melbourne Cup. With the stunning venue’s vibrant yellow umbrellas and new decor, your race day ‘fit will have the perfect Instagrammable backdrop. Indulge in shucking good oysters, premium bubbles and get a taste of the revamped menu with Riverbar’s $90pp package. We know we will!

House of Lobster at One Fish Two Fish | November

If there’s any restaurant that could claim the title of master of the lobster house, One Fish Two Fish has certainly earned it. For the month of November, this homely Queenslander will become the House of Lobster, packed with courses upon courses of crustaceans. We can’t wait to get our claws on a cheeky lobster ceviche taco and lobster mornay next month.

Tasting Menu at Bacchus | Wednesday and Thursday Evenings

If you’re looking to tick off an iconic Brisbane restaurant during the week, the tasting menu at Bacchus is not to be missed. Available every Wednesday and Thursday night, South Bank’s home to decadent dining offers seemingly endless rounds of seafood like Leche De Tigre crudo and salmon roe or landlubbing Sanchoku wagyu with a spicy wasabi jus. Breathe in the balmy nights and stroll through South Bank to this luxe location for your next post-work recharge.

First Dinner at Italia Lane | Anytime

In case you missed it, Fortitude Valley is now home to the next best pizza joint, Italia Lane! Choose your base, crust, and be prepared to fight over the last piece with your friend turned foe. And did we mention they do breakfast as well? We can’t think of anything better after a night out than Italia Lane’s array of brekky remedies – it’ll surely be love at first bite.
