Experience The Prince Consort in full bloom with Spring Fling

Don your florals for a date with this season’s hottest fling.

Ahh, spring – who doesn’t love the sunny days and balmy nights? If there’s one blooming good spot to put on your must-try list, The Prince Consort has got you covered with five weeks of their Spring Fling festival. From Instagrammable activations and trivia nights to rosé picnics and seafood smorgasbords, there’s no shortage of events to welcome in the season.

Rosé Pinknic – Sunday, October 16

Spring is absolutely the season for rosé – especially when it’s in frozé form. Take in The Prince Consort’s transformed Garden Bar with vibrant activations and an afternoon grazing on a shareboard bedecked with cured meats, cheeses, hummus, fruits and crackers for $20pp. Gather the girls for a round of blushing vino with this one!

Harvest Gin Dinner – Wednesday, October 19

If earthy flavours are more your taste, you’ll want to try the Harvest Gin Dinner. Partnering with Poor Toms distillery, Head Chef David Blackman has curated a botanical degustation with  flavours from the land to the sea. Think boujee crab sandwiches, smoky lamb rump, and perfectly paired gin, of course. Tickets are $120pp and include a Q & A with Poor Toms and David to feed both your mind and your tummies.

Hunky Dory – Thursday, October 20

Get funky with Hunky Dory inside the eclectic setting of The Prince Consort’s La La Land for a midweek boogie to your favourite tunes. The food and beverage packages are a must to fuel your dancing, and luckily they leave no petal unturned. The three-course dinner starts off with four cheese arancini, 15-hour slow cooked lamb shoulder, and dark chocolate torte for a decadent finish. Cue the drool!

Aperol Spring Brunch – Saturday, October 22

Did you think we’d go through a spring festival without a spritz? The Spring Brunch is your chance to toast with an Aperol spritz at the ultimate garden party with another stellar menu from David Blackman. Spots are limited for this one, so don’t miss out on your taste of crispy halloumi, strawberry strudel, and chorizo and octopus skewers (and more, if you have room!)

Seafood Festival – Sunday, October 23

If you need a family-friendly outing, The Prince Consort’s Seafood Festival is your one-stop-shop to discover the ocean’s delicacies. Local seafood vendors will showcase their best selections for a day dedicated to the South East’s flavours with multiple food stations to choose from. As expected of a festival within a festival, there’ll be loads of live entertainment – and it’s free!

Halloween – Saturday, October 29

Although October is the peak of spring, who could forget to celebrate spooky season? Prepare for Bettie Bombshell to take the stage with glitz, glamour, and everything you need for a spine-tingling night. With burlesque performances and live music from a stacked lineup of artists, you’ll be monster mashing on the dance floor for hours. Halloween is set to sell out, so save yourself the scare and get your tickets now.

Melbourne Cup – Tuesday, November 1

The ultimate culmination of all things spring and floral, Melbourne Cup is the pièce de résistance of Spring Fling. With delectable dishes, crafty cocktails and live entertainment, you’ll feel trackside right in the Valley. Dust off your fascinators for the grand event and get your favourite fillies and colts together for race-day action.
