7 epic seafood specials to snap up at Sea to the City

Seafood and eat it, too!

Sail the high seas this Sunday, May 29 from 11am to 6pm as your favourite restaurants from Eagle Street Pier to Customs House are taken over for Dine BNE City’s seafood trail.

Sea to the City is set to satisfy your cravings with the freshest seafood around – and with Eagle Street Pier about to close for redevelopment, now’s the perfect time to plan one last visit (and snap up these epic deals!).

Patina at Customs House

Situated right next to the Brisbane River, Patina at Customs House ticks all the boxes when it comes to great food and even better views. Patina has freshly shucked oysters with lemongrass, chilli, and coconut dressing at the ready for $10, alongside its iconic Moreton Bay bug croissants with citrus poached bug, iceberg, and lime mayo for $19.

We recommend trying both.

COPPA Spuntino

COPPA Spuntino is going all out for Sea to the City: with four seafood dishes on offer, the hardest part will be choosing! Tuck into refreshing crudo (raw fish), pickled watermelon, citrus, chilli and herbs for $20, as well as $5 oysters with fro’secco granita.

But, if you’ve caught the Moreton Bay bug, you’ll be in heaven, with a caesar salad and arancini balls centred around these tasty little fellas.

City Winery

For a decadent seafood lunch, head to City Winery’s Eagle Street venue for cured ocean trout, pickled beetroot, caper, dill cream, and potato crisps for $25.

And, with their carefully curated cellar right on the river-front, expect a perfectly paired wine on the side too!

Naga Thai

Die-hard prawn fans, you haven’t been forgotten; Naga Thai is plating up spiced coconut prawns with truffle and curry mayonnaise for $14. What a combo.

You can also expect Ka Nhom Pung Na Pla, which features baby Barramundi toast with sesame seeds, coriander, ginger, and shallot served with sweet chilli and ar-jad for $12.

Blackbird Bar & Grill

For a taste of opulence at this year’s Sea to the City festival, head to Blackbird with their classy lounges and ornate chandeliers. For $12, you can indulge in their Moreton Bay bug sliders, oozing with lemon Aspen aioli, or oysters topped with native mignonette. Delish!

Madame Wu

Madame Wu is gracing Sea to the City with three special offerings, including Moreton Bay bug with sesame leaf and Gochujang Mary Rose for $17, tangy oysters with yuzu buttermilk and finger lime for $6 each, and scrumptious duck buns.

Hot tip: their selection of cocktails will keep you sipping long into the night!

Rico’s Bar & Dining

To finish off your seafood trail, satisfy what little stomach space you have left with a trip to Rico’s Bar & Dining.

For $40, gorge on a dozen mixed oysters, shared or devoured solo. Whichever way you go, we think an afternoon spent along the river, nailing off some oysters is a pretty great way to spend a Sunday.

Bookings for all Sea to the City offers are essential, so visit the Dine BNE City website for more information. You’ll go cray cray if you miss it, Brisbanites!
