People's choice: Brisbane’s best espresso martinis

This is how we brew it

For the people who simply prefer their espresso in martini form, here’s where to find some of the best in town.

You’re welcome, friends.

Newstead Social | Newstead

For the smoothest martini you can imagine, Newstead Social has you covered. Drop in on the weekend to listen to live music and unwind with their caramel popcorn espresso martini – boasting Ketel One vodka, Tia Maria, salted caramel popcorn reduction (yum!) and cold press coffee. It’s certainly one of the best variations we’ve tried in a long time, so give this one a whirl on your next night out!

Greca | Howard Smith Wharves, Fortitude Valley

Greeks know how to have a good time, and Greca is no exception. With its gorgeous location and super relaxed vibe, Greca is the perfect spot to enjoy a few espresso martinis. Featuring vodka, coffee and kahlua – it’s rated as one of the best in town.

Keep the party going by pairing your espresso martini with a serving of katoumari. Opa!

Madame Wu | CBD

For those that like to walk on the sweet side of life, you can’t go wrong with the malteser espresso martini from Madame Wu. Described as creamy and sweet, it features white and dark chocolate liqueur, Tia Maria, and espresso. Sip your drink and enjoy fine dining with an Asian twist.

Cru Bar | James Street, Fortitude Valley

Come through to Cru Bar to experience one of the most extensive drinks menus in town. While they are best known for their wines, don’t skip out on trying their espresso martinis – all four of them! Choose from cappuccino, Patron XO, pep up and tiger blood to get your dose of sweetness with a kick.

Better yet, get your ‘cru’ together and try them all.

Ngon | Paddington

If you’ve never tried Vietnamese coffee, you haven’t lived. Not to worry – Ngon’s Vietnamese espresso martini has you covered. Vodka, coffee liqueur, Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk come together to create absolute espresso martini bliss.

With a huge menu full of enticing options (that will all pair well with an espresso, by the way), knock off work early and grab yourself a table at Ngon.

Soul Pantry Kitchen and Bar | Stafford

After a long week at work chugging normal coffee, kick back with something extra at Soul Pantry in Stafford. Though the brunch deals are a total winner, we recommend sleeping in on your day off and pairing their espresso martini with the group cheese board to share. Made on cold drip coffee, Ketel vodka and Tia Maria, this is one espresso that never fails to impress.

Bottoms up!

At Sixes and Sevens | James Street, Fortitude Valley

At its charming little spot in the Valley, At Sixes and Sevens is all about slowing down and reminiscing with your crew while enjoying delicious food. And their espresso martini is a must!  Our tip? Grab a few espressos and share a plate of fried mushroom arancini balls with your friends for the perfect afternoon session. See you there!

Mrs Browns Bar & Kitchen | Newstead

Keep it quirky with Mrs Browns and make this your new regular. You’re always guaranteed to try something new on a visit to Mrs Browns, but make sure you ask for an espresso martini to enjoy while perusing the menu. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot Mrs Brown herself – the beagle of the house.

Mr Percival’s | Howard Smith Wharves

With its gorgeous lightwood and sage interior, Mr Percival’s is the place to go for that winning Instagram cocktail shot. Round up your friends and say saluti to this stunner of a spot, with an espresso martini in hand, of course.

What a way to spend the weekend!

Gerard’s Bar | James Street, Fortitude Valley

When it comes to finding an epic espresso martini in Brisbane, it’s hard to go past Gerard’s. This special little Middle Eastern number has Absolut vodka, cardamom syrup, pistachio orgeat, Wolff Roasters coffee, and toasted wattleseed for a perfectly balanced bevvy. Head there ASAP to try one – you won’t regret it.
