The Star Announces A Regal Addition To Their Culinary Lineup: Cucina Regina

No, not the ‘Mean Girls’ character - prepare to be dazzled by authentic Italian instead…

Say hello to Cucina Regina: the new Italian sensation joining The Star Brisbane’s epic culinary suite of restaurants set to open in 2024. Affectionately known as ‘Regina’, Italian for Queen, it’ll be fittingly nestled in the Queen’s Wharf precinct.

Drawing inspiration from its siblings, the Gold Coast’s Cucina Vivo and Sydney’s Cucina Porto, it’s all about simple dishes done well here. Dustin Osuch, The Star Brisbane’s General Manager of Food & Beverage, says Regina will be ‘a testament to Italy’s love for simplicity and quality’. We’ll take some of that, please!

The menu is filled with all the comfort food you could ask for – think antipasto, wood-fired pizzas and homemade pasta, all served in a schmick setting with a touch of old-world charm. And for a little something sweet, take your pick from the dessert trolleys strolling by you. Indulge in classics like panna cotta or seasonal offerings like fresh figs with a balsamic reduction or house-made focaccia, studded with garlic confit.

As for the drinks, the beverage menu sounds just as enticing as the food, featuring fragrant Italian wines, amaro sours, zesty limoncello spritzes and, of course, negronis – it wouldn’t be a true Italian bar menu without them.

Cucina Regina, designed by the Australian-based design studio, Tom Mark Henry, has a familiar and warm atmosphere where diners can wine ‘n’ dine with ease. Inspired by Italian villages, the interiors will blend traditional and modern accents with bold pops of colour and textured glass. And, with a seating capacity of 160 guests, with indoor and outdoor dining options, get ready for alfresco dining on another level!

This new gem is sure to be as popular as Queen-bee Regina George! Find out more about Brissie’s new skyline addition here.
