People’s choice: Brisbane’s best schnitzels

For the love of good schnitty!

No need to wing your next meal, our schnitty loving followers have divulged their favourite crumbed chicken spots to create this im-peck-able guide.

Story Bridge Hotel | Kangaroo Point

Unsure of a central spot to meet? Catch up with friends for a classic schnitty at the Story Bridge Hotel and soak up the sights of the Brisbane river. Story Bridge Hotel Cellars is located right next to the dining space so pick up a bottle of some of their unique wines to enjoy post schnitzel.

Hot tip: Story Bridge Hotel’s Main St Bar and Eatery also serves breakfast!

The Crown Hotel | Lutwyche

Experience the schnitty you know and love with a modern twist. These golden crumbed chicken breasts are served with red cabbage and apple slaw in addition to the traditional chips and gravy for a taste sensation.

Hot tip: unwind with a schnitty to the tunes of a jazz quartet playing from 2pm every Sunday.

The Regatta Hotel | Toowong

Regatta’s delicious River Road Cafe serves up all the pub favourites and cosy cafe classics. Enjoy your crispy crumbed schnitty alongside lemon, gravy, chips and salad for a classic comfort meal in a stylish surround.

Hot tip: Regatta Hotel boasts a selection of 33 draught beers to accompany your schnitty perfectly.

The Boundary Hotel | West End

What could be better than gathering together your loved ones and spending a casual afternoon tucking into a herb and parmesan chicken schnitzel at Brissie’s iconic Boundary Hotel. Or if you’re more of a parmy lover, members at the boundary can get $20 parmys all day Friday. What a way to end the week!

Hot tip: members get 40% off main meals Monday 12-2 and 5-7.

K&K Austrian Cafe & Restaurant | Sinnamon Park

It would be pretty schnit of us if we didn’t pay our respects to the home of the schnitty. K&K Austrian Cafe and Restaurant are serving up true authentic Austrian schnitzels made from veal instead of chicken (the original way) and have an entire page on their menu dedicated to variations of this Austrian delicacy. These schnittys are the veal deal!

Hot tip: You must try their authentic strudels for dessert.

Runcorn Tavern | Runcorn

We couldn’t talk about Brisbane’s best schnitzels without doing a little shout out to the schnitty’s older brother, the parmy. Especially not when the Runcorn Tavern serves up an entire parmesan and panko crumbed “Parmy Army” collection that ranges from the traditional schnitzel to toppings like chili con carne, sausage and mash, and creamy garlic Australian prawns. To top it all off, all parmys include unlimited trips to the salad bar (so don’t worry…it’s healthy.)

Hot tip: if you’re dining with little people, kids can visit the playroom which includes skill testers and playstations.

Bavarian Beer Haus | King Street

Smashed avo and toast, spaghetti and meatballs, schnitty and a big beer; some things are just meant to be. Enjoy this perfect combination as you munch through a menu including four different types of schnitzel at the Bavarian Beer Haus and wash it down with a beer from their extensive range.

Hot tip: Schnitty’s are $12 on Wednesdays!

The Kenmore | Kenmore

Choose the dining experience right for you as you indulge in a classic, crispy schnitty. Dine outside in the al fresco area, near an open fireplace or retreat to the glorious aircon in this heatwave as you enjoy some upscale pub grub.

Hot tip: treat yourself to their Earl Grey Creme Brulee for dessert.

The Brunswick Hotel | New Farm

For those of you who aren’t the type to search up a menu beforehand and plan ahead for your meal (can’t relate), you’re in for a treat at the Brunswick hotel. Not only do they have a consistent parmy on the menu, but they also serve up an ever-changing parmy of the day. Try out a surprise parmy or, better yet, rock up throughout the week and sample all the crumbed chicken toppings.

Make sure you let us know your favourite.

Hot tip: The Brunswick Hotel has a big focus on sustainability so take a walk through the garden bar and check out the repurposed pot plants from around the hotel.

Shafston Hotel | East Brisbane

A treat for the vegetarians! Not only does the Shafston Hotel serve up classic chicken schnitzels and parmigianas but also serves up a vegetarian parmigiana so you don’t have to miss out on the fun.

Hot tip: it’s open until 9 on Mondays. So much time for schnitty!

Schnitz | Various Locations

It’s not a snitch to talk about this next place. Now an Australia wide company, head over to your nearest Schnitz to experience the “precisely crafted crumbing” and “special pan cooking technique” guaranteed to create succulent schnitty.

Hot tip: for something different, enjoy your schnitzel in a salad, wrap or served on a stick!

Good cluck choosing which to try first!
