January bucket list

Nice to meet you, 2021!

The new year brings with it new eateries, plenty of foodie events, and a foodie festival that has us Gold Coast bound. Buckle up for January 2021, everyone!

NEW YEAR’S DAY | Victoria Park Bistro

Perfect for a pint after a putt or a coffee before a day on the green, Victoria Park Bistro is a favourite of ours for breaky, lunch, and dinner. The doors will be swung open from 7 am on New Year’s Day for dining, sipping, and fun in the sun.

Back up New Year’s Eve festivities with a day of sipping seasonal cocktails and chilling to live music, or bring the kids along for giant games, a jumping castle, and more! This one’s gonna be popular… Get booking here

Opening Day | Darvella Patisserie

From the team behind Paw Paw, Monocle Coffee, and Mons Thai comes a new Swiss-inspired bakery for Bulimba’s Oxford Street strip! Stop by on January 1 for $3 coffees (perfect to beat that NYE hangover) and $3 filled donuts, or stock up on sweet and savoury pastries, breadS and their adorable signature “baby cakes” (perfect for around ten).

DAY DREAM NYD 2021 | Mr Percivals

Mr Percivals is kicking off 2021 in fine form, throwing a white party on New Year’s Day with four hours of drinking and dining! Between midday and 4 pm you’ll be treated to Mr P’s signature cocktails, Louis Roderer Champagne, spirits, wines and Felons beers, as you enjoy roving canapés and a luxe seafood station. With MC Double D (formerly Sneaky Sound System) on the decks and an all-white dress code, we dare say this is going to be a damn fine day…

ITALIAN STAYCATION POP-UP | Kingsleys

With restrictions stopping us jetting off on a summer holiday this year, Kingsleys is coming to the rescue by bringing the Amalfi Coast straight to Brissy! Their Italian Staycation pop-up will run until the end of January, with a collection of seasonal sips and loads of fresh Italian dining options.

FRESH BLOOD | The Fruitful Pursuit

Wine collective The Fruitful Pursuit is hosting a celebration of emerging Aussie winemakers on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17. FRESH BLOOD will be held at Siffredi’s and Zero Fox, with a range of Victorian and South Australian’s best and brightest winemakers showing off their best and brightest drops! A one-day pass will score you tastings of more than 30 wines and a snack and a sweet from Siffredi’s or Zero Fox, plus a glass to take home–grab your ticket here

SCOOP! | HOTA

The Gold Coast’s HOTA (Home of the Arts) has taken the best parts of summer (ice cream, cold drinks, and refreshing swims) and turned them into a festival, with SCOOP! coming to the precinct on the weekend of January 15 to 17. Enjoy live performances, dips in Evandale lake, and plenty of scoops alongside a grown-ups-only ice cream degustation and beer garden. Head here to read more and nab a ticket!

COPPA | Eagle Street Pier

With views to boot and a reputation as one of Brisbane’s finest dining precincts, Eagle Street Pier has seen a lot of changes lately, with exciting new openings on the horizon in 2021! Familiar face COPPA is set to open in early January, relocating to the prime spot previously home to Il Centro. Expect Italian classics with an emphasis on Aussie produce, plenty of pastas and seafood galore.

So much to eat, such little time.
