After a long two-year hiatus, the Ekka Strawberry Sundae is finally back – and with every scoop will go towards supporting medical research, we can’t wait to get our hands on one…or ten.
The Strawberry Sundae is a legacy in so many Brisbane eyes; a sought after dessert year after year. But, there’s more to it than just their strawberry, creamy delight.
The Common Good will be dishing up the Ekka delicacies from Wednesday, August 6, to Sunday, August 14, with all proceeds going towards research into heart disease, lung disease, mental health and dementia.
Over nine days, 2000 Brisbane volunteers will step up to scoop and serve over 120,000 sundaes – so there will definitely be enough for you to get more than one! Volunteers are still needed too, so if you’re feeling generous (and can help for a few hours), head here to register.
Showgoers will also have the opportunity to win a limited edition tote bag by local artist Aidan Ryan, in celebration of the role the Strawberry Sundae plays in medical breakthroughs.
