Your bucket list for June in Brisbane

It's comfort food season, baby!

At last, our annual excuse to rug up, consume excessively and exercise minimally has arrived: winter! In celebration of the delicious time of the year, here are some tasty ways to spend your June…

Sky High Sundays | Iris

Brisbane’s newest rooftop bar Iris has introduced some juicy weekly sessions, christened Sky High Sundays, kicking off weekly at 2 pm! There’s live entertainment, those incredible city skyline views, and the menu of Mediterranean-inspired snacks and drinks to sink your teeth into. Our plan? Catching sunset with Cantabrian anchovies on tomato migas bread and crème fraîche, and a few round of Iris’ soda cocktails!

Regional Flavours – Grazed and Grown | South Bank

At long last, beloved foodie festival Regional Flavours is returning on the weekend of June 18-20, with a new three-part, three-day format kicking of with Grazed and Grown! Expect to browse stalls from producers and makers from within 250km of Brisbane including fresh produce, spirits, wine and beer, condiments and preserved goods and loads more. There’ll be live entertainment, delicious food by South Bank’s O.G. venues, and so much to explore. Learn more about what to expect here.

Sunday roast | Beerhaus

You know it for its fab German-inspired good times and bier, but you’ll LOVE Beerhaus for this creation: every Sunday from 12 pm, you can nab a piece of slow-roasted pork belly with golden crackling, glazed Dutch carrots, creamy mash, red cabbage, Yorkshire pudding, apple compote and onion gravy for just $20 with any drink purchase! Check out the rest of the agenda here.

Any Given Sunday lunches | Botero House

What do you get when two chefs and a sommelier need a side project? Any Given Sunday lunches, hosted at Botero House! The team, who collectively have experience at ARC Dining, Gerard’s Bar, Esmay and more, will serve up fortnightly five-course lunches for $85 with optional alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage pairing ($55 or $35 respectively). Learn more and book in for the first lunches, on June 6 or June 20, here.

GABS Festival | Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

Don’t miss what’s been described as “Disneyland for beer lovers” when GABS lands in town on Saturday, June 12! The festival of all things beery will feature 120 unique beers brewed specially for GABS (we’re talking flavours of wasabi, marshmallows, avo, Rice Bubbles, rum, chai and more!) as well as your favourite craft brews plus food trucks, live music and entertainment, brewer talks and guided tastings. Read more about GABS here.

Toast to the Coast | One Fish Two Fish

Yet another limited menu is on offer at One Fish Two Fish from June 11, and this one’s taking us on an Italian holiday! The Toast to the Coast: Milan to the Mediterranean menu combines classic Italian dishes with great local seafood, and will have you dining on five courses for just $69pp. Our peppers are on the san crab arancini and grilled scampi! Learn more and book in here.

Now, we’re in urgent need of a hot choc!
