What to drink this winter

Because the best way to warm up is from the inside out...

We’ve curated a list of the season’s must-sip specials, new releases, and revamped classics to wholeheartedly embrace when seeking fresh beveraginos to enjoy this winter.

Mulled wine cart | Regatta Hotel

The Regatta is going all out for winter, turning their gorgeous courtyard bar into a winter winery setting for the season! As well as a special antipasto-style menu, there’ll be a mulled wine cart popping up every Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm, with four variations to try including classic mulled wine, mulled apple cinnamon cider, hot honey mead and mulled rosé. You can learn more about Winter in the Vineyards at the Regatta here.

2021 Imperial Stout | Felons Brewing Co

This outta-this-world black brew uses not one, not two but SEVEN different malts! Coming in at 10% ABV and with notes of malt, dark chocolate and licorice with light berry aromas, so it’s basically the perfect winter dessert, right?

You can buy this limited (seriously, only 3000 individually-numbered cans were produced!) brew direct from Felons online here, or swing down to the Wharves to try it just metres away from the tanks in which it was developed!

Infused hot chocolates | Denim Co

As well as introducing a dedicated lunch menu of winter warmers, Denim Co has added some pretty spesh hot choccies to their menu for the season! We’re talking Sicilian orange and French mint-infused hot chocolates, perfect for pairing with their sweet treats and hearty meals.

Winter cocktails | The Walrus Club

Enter this cosy underground bar at the Regatta to sample their new selection of seriously winter-y cocktails! With names like the Snow Globe, Chocolate Spice, S’more World After All and Kaloo Kalay, it’s bound to be a tasty time filled with seasonal flavours for tippling your way to toastiness!

Martini hour | The Incholm Bar

Because there’s nothing like a couple of $12 martinis to warm you up! New spot The Inchcolm Bar at The Inchcolm by Ovolo welcomes guests for a daily martini hour from 5:30 pm, with the house signature featuring Ketel One vodka, Sipsmith London Dry Gin, fennel-infused dry vermouth, orange bitters and olive brine. Add on some classic bistro bites and that’s a perfect winter evening sorted.

#7 | NON

Whether you’re facing down Dry July (you can do it!) or are just looking for alcy-free alternatives, NON is a frontrunner in the global realm making 0% drinks cool again, and it’s made in Melbourne! Now, a Lambrusco-inspired drop has joined the lineup, made from an intriguing combo of sour cherries, cold brew coffee, garam masala, all spice, nutmeg, cascara, pink peppercorn, Murray River salt and verjus. You can learn more and buy NON online here.

Well, well, well… looks like winter is definitely worth toasting to!
