Feast on the best of summer with these seasonal menus

Summer, ya stunner.

If you’re feeling frazzled, frizzy, or sunburnt, take solace with these zesty, refreshing, and enticing flavours on Brisbane’s new summer menus!

ELSKA | WILSTON

At the start of every season, the folks at Elska craft a hyper-seasonal 12-course degustation menu based on what is freshest and of the highest quality at the time…

In doing this, eaters are always treated to new sensations–all equally as innovate, imaginative, and fresh. Elska’s summer menu will take you from emu and rosella to fennel pollen and apple, via crocodile and finger lime, and kangaroo tail and bush tomato.

TODD & PUP | MOOROOKA

The summertime offerings at Todd & Pup sure have tails wagging, with fresh flavours taking centre stage on both the breaky and lunch menus.

The croque Monsieur avocat is a fresh take on a classic, while the house-cured salmon bagel has December days written all over it. The key lime puffed pancake is an exciting addition to the menu, while Todd & Pup regulars will be pleased to see the fried chicken Benedict is still around!

ROGUE BISTRO | NEWSTEAD

While Rogue’s offerings change with the season, they somehow remain as mind-blowingly good as ever. Summer’s six-course degustation takes diners on a journey beginning with understated yet perfectly flavoured snacks, before highlight dishes like crispy pork belly with wasabi pea purée, red currant jam and radish, and BBQ quail with fried brussels sprouts, peach and smoked sour cream.

The menu’s crescendo comes in the form of a super luxe salted coconut and mango brûlée with candied popcorn, fresh mango and frozen coconut cream, and, boy, is it worth the wait.

ZA ZA TA | FORTITUDE VALLEY

Za Za Ta’s veg-fuelled Middle Eastern menu has been given a seasonal update, with tasty new dishes including tahini and spring bean salad, cauliflower shawarma with smoked labneh, pickled fennel and quince, and eggplant h’raime with yellow tomato gazpacho.

They’ve also started opening for a lunch service on Fridays and Saturdays, with a tasty set menu on the cards! For just $42 you can nab two courses and a glass of rosé or lager, with favourites like hummus and za’atar and eggplant h’raime.

HELLO PLEASE | SOUTH BRISBANE

Greeting summer in the most polite of ways, Hello Please has revamped its famous banquet menus, shifty to cooler, zingy-er flavours! Keep things real with the classic banquet for $35pp and munch on pork belly bao, chicken tenders with yuzu mayo, chicken coconut curry and a vibrant cucumber salad, or go for the baller banquet and be treated to scallops with wasabi, ponzu and leek oil, confit duck pancakes, beef cheek rendang, and more!

NINEBAR + KITCHEN | COORPAROO

This homey southside eatery dropped a fresh menu just in time for summer, and it’s loaded up with a bunch of brunch time delights. We’re talking eggs Benny with a rich beef cheek ragu, hummingbird banana and cinnamon waffles with ice cream, pineapple jam and passionfruit coulis, and a crispy Thai fish salad with nước chấm dressing. Northsiders, this one’s worth crossing the river for.
