Brisbane's best beer gardens

This weather has sent us flocking outside to drink beers in the sunshine!

With summer around the corner, we don’t want to miss out on a second of this sunshine, and the beloved beer garden is calling our name. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites, so slap on some sunscreen and slip on a hat because it’s time to get outdoorsy…

Brisbane Brewing Co | West End

Tucked away in a West End laneway, local favourite Brisbane Brewing Co can’t be left off the list when it comes to the best beer gardens. Their garden is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a bevvie, with ten freshly brewed beers on tap, eight house beers over seventy bottled craft beers from around the world. Take a seat on their funky furniture and pair your brew with a bite, such as their 12-hour slow-cooked beef brisket.

Revel Brewing Co. | Bulimba

Hidden away in a former industrial block at the End of Oxford street lies Revel – a gem of Bulimba. Here, you can expect a range of house-brewed beers, famous wood-fired pizzas and excellent vibes. Open Wednesday through to Sunday, it’s the ideal spot for a mid-week treat or weekend celebrations. So, round up your mates and revel in the beer garden!

The Osbourne Hotel | Fortitude Valley

Step into an urban oasis at The Osbourne Hotel with their lush greenery, comfortable seating, and a stunning vaulted glass ceiling and vibrant street art. Boasting over 94 taps of local and international craft beer, a boutique wine list, and a banging cocktail menu, The Osborne is killing the beer garden game.

Catchment Brewing Co. | West End

You’ll catch us at Catchment all summer long! This trendy West End hangout is home to stunning wall art, a top-notch wine list, and an impeccable food menu. Make yourself at home in their cosy laneway and enjoy one of their signature house-brewed beers or selection of international brews. Keep your tummy happy and order some snacks from their extensive food menu – think wood-fired pizzas, burgers, salads and a range of tapas plates.

The Triffid | Newstead

You may have spent nights moshing to your favourite acts at The Triffid, but it’s more than just a music venue. Their bustling beer garden is well worth a visit on its own, offering up a selection of craft beers, tasty bar snacks and regular live music gigs. Make yourself comfy in the garden and be sure to pair your bevvie with one of their signature burgers!

The Wickham | Fortitude Valley

Since its epic makeover a few years back, The Wickham has to be one of Brisbane’s best beer gardens. The Garden Bar courtyard is a lush, green oasis in the heart of Fortitude Valley, featuring plenty of picnic tables, eclectic street art and even a giant game of Jenga to try your hand at. And, with their menu of delicious bites such as tacos, burgers and nachos, there’s not a chance anyone will go hungry!

XCargo | Fortitude Valley

This multi-level hotspot in the Valley has a hell of a lot more than beer, serving up insane cocktails, wine and top-tier food from their stylish shipping containers. Get classy with it and order a serving of salmon ceviche, pork belly bao, soft shell crab burgers, cauliflower nuggets, and charcuterie board to keep all those cheese cravings at bay. Head to XCargo on a Friday or Saturday arvo and continue the affair into the night, as they dim the lights and play bangers till late.

Pig ‘N’ Whistle | Fortitude Valley

The spacious beer garden at the Pig ‘N’ Whistle features plenty of greenery, and is the perfect place to soak up the sunlight during the day. After dark, they switch on the fairy lights, making for a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to catch-up with some friends over a beverage, with plenty of local craft beers, British ales, and internationally imported beers to tickle your fancy. On their menu, you can expect classic bar snacks along with British comfort food favourites like traditional fish and chips with salad, mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Felons Brewing Co. | Brisbane CBD

Ah, nothing beats an afternoon on the sunny green lawns of Felons. Nestled under the Story Bridge in the gorgeous Howard Smith Wharves precinct, the location is unbeatable, and so is their epic menu of brews and bites.

Choose from a range of house-brewed Felons beers, including the Artful Ale, IPA, Crisp Lager or Middy. With so many delicious options, their food menu can be overwhelming, so we recommend ordering one of their gourmet wood-fired pizzas or burgers. Their spicy chicken burger with shredded iceberg lettuce & ‘comeback’ sauce is a winner winner, chicken dinner!

Wandering Cooks | South Brisbane

Wander over to Fish Lane’s Wandering Cooks, where they’re open for dinner and drinks from Wednesday through to Sunday. In their garden, you can surround yourself in greenery and enjoy the fresh air whilst feasting on a menu of quality food and drinks, including a range of boutique wines, beers and cocktails.

So come on, schooner on over!
