Oodles of noodles at the Night Noodle Markets

Has the winter weather got you hankering for bulk bao buns, oodles of noodles and all the dumplings you can feasibly stuff in your face at one time? Well get ready for carb loading then, because the biggest event on the Good Food Month calendar is back, with the Night Noodle Markets taking over South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt from July 20-31. Over 12 nights, let your senses guide you through 25 stalls offering a wide array of Asian cuisine from some of Brisbane’s favourite eateries, not to mention a few interstate gems. This year, Harajuku Gyoza is brining their Insta-famous Raindrop Cake to the table! With all the usual suspects on offer, including an appearance by Luke Nguyen with his signature dishes from Fat Noodle, you’ll have to come back more than a few times to sample everything. Drool over the full menu here. While you’re there, don’t forget to head up to Yalumba’s pop-up rooftop bar and pair a glass of sangria with your feed while you take in the sight of a few thousand people attempting to successfully us chopsticks below. Once again, the markets are going cashless, which means spending all your coinage on steamed pork buns won’t have to mean not having funds left over for a strawberry watermelon cake from Black Star Pastry x N2 Gelato. Plus you’ll have unlimited dollars to spend at the bar – or is that a bad thing? Either way, after buying an array of delicious Asian dishes you can park yourself at a table or on the grass and soak up some free entertainment (and plenty of booze) as you take in the lights and plan your next round. The Brisbane Night Noodle Markets will be open from 5pm-late Monday to Friday and 4pm-late on the weekends, from July 20-31.
