Fat Noodle

Hidden within Brisbane’s sprawling Treasury Casino, Fat Noodle brings a surprising vitality to the venue. The man behind the restaurant is acclaimed celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, who also owns the award-winning Red Lantern restaurant in Sydney.

The menu is primarily Vietnamese, with sprinkles of Chinese, Thai, and Malay. While we would usually whimper at the thought of ‘Asian fusion’, Nguyen has successfully manipulated the cross cultural menu, highlighting the best of each cuisine. Asian classics such as chicken pad thai, Atlantic salmon sashimi and mee goreng are juxtaposed with creative dishes such as Fat Pho Noodles, grilled pork neck skewers, and caramelised pork ribs with egg. The combination creates a menu to cater to any palate and all dishes are under $20.

An important side note: Fat Noodle is a great late night dining option, the kitchen is open until 1am over the weekend.
