5 ways to celebrate National Tequila Day

Get the salt and limes ready, there’s a party on its way and it’s going to be muy bueno.

We’re letting you in on how to make the most of National Tequila Day in Brisbane.

El Camino Cantina | Multiple Locations

What better way to celebrate tequila than getting lost in the neon amidst a six-day, agave-fueled fiesta? From Tuesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 25, Tex-Mex fans can score themselves a tequila and spice marinated chicken taco, as well as tequila, lime, chilli and paprika-coated chicken wings for a unique flavour kick. The celebration is set to roll all week with premium tequila flights available from 1800 and Patrón and a limited edition Redskin-infused margarita. Did we mention all margs are $10 every Thursday? Check out the website for more information and bookings.

La Quinta | Bulimba

Strap in, tequila fans, this Bulimba icon is honouring our favourite agave spirit with a celebration of grande proportions. Partnering with Tromba tequila on Saturday, July 24, you’ll be served a four-course Mexican feast featuring a cocktail on arrival, four mini cocktail pairings and three premium tequila tastings. The special menu is $95pp and guests will also receive a treat to take home! Book your spot here.

Pepe’s | Newmarket and Jindalee

Boasting over 150 tequilas behind the bar and an unreal selection of authentic Mexican eats, Pepe’s is turning up the heat this National Tequila Day. Head down on Saturday, July 24 for a live mariachi band, tequila-infused food specials like tequila shrimp tacos, and specials on the Fortaleza tequila range. This is not to be missed and bookings are essential. More information and bookings are available online, head here for Newmarket and here for Jindalee.

Baja | Fortitude Valley

For a more custom Tequila Day experience, you’re going to want to book a table at the swishest Mexican restaurant in town. Tequila fans are going to want to keep a close eye on the cocktail list for delicious concoctions like the Day of the Dead, featuring two tequilas, one mezcal, pineapple, grenadine, lime and a taste of the tropics. Book your table here.

El Planta | South Brisbane

Attention all vegans and vegetarians: the extensive tequila selection and delicious plant-based eats at this meat-free Mexican joint are guaranteed to kick start your celebration. Our advice is to opt for the $35 banquet to spend more time deciding on your next drink. The jalapeno margarita is an absolute must! Head to the website for bookings.

That should get you livin’ la vida loca.
