All fiesta, no siesta – certainly fitting words for the vibrant Valley Fiesta opening next Friday, November 3.
Valley Fiesta has got some party-packed plans this year, showcasing the best of the best on Brissie’s music and arts scene. To kick off the festival, the much-loved King St Food Fiesta returns with pop-up bars, food stalls, live music and roaming entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Did we mention there was free entry?
King St’s food retailers are taking to the streets for this festival, serving up street-food-inspired tasting plates from just $8! Start your world tour at the Amalfi Coast with Il Verde’s spritz pop-up bar, then fly to Mexico for El Camino’s nachos or perhaps a trip to Vietnam for Xin Chao’s famous bao buns. Your passport will be full with stamps by the time you’re finished at King St Food Fiesta!
If you don’t want to hear the same old “I don’t want to eat that,” you can rest assured that offers like Super Combos tater tots and chicken wings will keep the kids happy. And King St’s latest arrival, Archie Brothers’ Cirque Electriq, is also offering a small selection from their over-the-top American diner-style menu, which is bound to make anybody happy.
For the grooving to your gorging, Brissie’s best emerging artists are set to perform this year. Say hello to the talented Taitu’uga – both Talking High Chief for his Samoan village and artist. As a master of weaving culture throughout his beats, you can groove to EDM, hip hop, reggae, beatbox loop machine and traditional instruments.
Joining Taitu’uga will be Australian and Maori vocalist Kuzco and alternative-pop artist Lucy Korts as well as interactive talk-factor artists set to roam the street. It’s going to be a big one, so be sure to pack your dancing shoes!
