Oh, how we’ve missed dining under the iconic yellow-striped umbrellas with a cocktail in hand. So you can imagine our excitement when we heard our favourite riverside spot for wining and dining with mates is back!
Co-owners of Riverbar + Kitchen, Solotel and Matt Moran, have been busy refurbishing and reinvigorating the venue following flood damage earlier this year, and its new look is described as ‘contemporary restaurant meets Miami Beach shack’. Cue plenty of bright colour pops and a breezy open space that takes advantage of its waterfront locale.
Early morning commuters can rejoice as Riverbar will now open from 7 am for breakfast bites and coffee. From 10 am, blissful brunchers can revel in a brand new line-up of cocktails with the full menu available from 11 am on weekdays and 11.30 am on weekends.
With a focus on fresh produce and seafood, must try items from the new menu include spanner crab spaghetti, local sashimi with ginger wasabi and soy, seared Pejo barramundi with spring onions and greens as well as QLD tiger prawns with spicy cocktail sauce (it’s as good as it sounds, trust us).
Riverbar + Kitchen is now also open until midnight so you can spend the night sipping on their new array of cocktails including the boujee blend of Regal Rogue wild rosé, Campari and grapefruit called Rome Away From Rome. If you’re celebrating the reopening with a large group of friends, the infamous shared cocktails jugs are making a grand return with new blends such as Poseidon’s Punch and Walk in the Tropics.
