Sip on South East Queensland spirits at these distillery bars

South East Queensland has exploded with a range of fantastic distilleries, and our favourites come with a bar attached to enjoy the freshest spirits on offer.

Check out these distillery bars we can’t get enough of.

The Malecón | Milton

Drawing inspiration from its Cuban namesake, this microdistillery and bar is your one-stop rum shop. Home to local favourite, Milton Rum, the dark, brooding interior comes alive with jazz, laughter and plenty of rum. With over 80 premium rums from around the world, you’re going to want to check this one out.

Eleven Bridges | South Brisbane

Taking over the former Peel Street Tavern, this spot boasts a street bar and casual dining area, whilst the back boardroom has been repurposed as the distillery. Trying their signature gins is a must, however, you’ll want to stick around to explore the backbar of over 110 gin varieties from around the world.

Brisbane Distillery | West End

Producing heavenly gins, vodkas and rhums, this inner city distillery overlooks West End’s Davies Park. Perch up by the window for green views or take a seat at the bar to watch the bartenders create beautiful cocktails. The main attraction is the distillery’s gin school where you are invited to create your very own unique gin choosing from over 140 botanicals.

Warehouse 25 | Milton

Tucked in the shadow of the XXXX Brewery, this funky warehouse is home to a gin and vodka distillery, weekly live music and an unreal pizza selection. Whilst their spirits are currently only available in house, takeaways will soon be on the cards under the label Calm Spirits Co, with a bottle shop currently in the works.

Husk Distillers | Tumbulgum

Whilst this one may require a bit of travel time, we guarantee you will not regret the trek. Husk is home to renowned rums and, of course, Ink Gin. The beautiful farm location in north Tumbulgum is the perfect setting for a few cocktails or a tasting flight. Make a day out of it by booking a tour of the distillery or simply sit back, relax and soak it all in.

Wild Flower Distillery | Varsity Lakes

There are plenty of reasons to celebrate this quaint Gold Coast distillery, especially given its recent gold medal for its signature gin at the Australian Gin Awards. Drop in for a refreshing gin and tonic, a lovingly crafted cocktail, or make your own gin at the distillery’s masterclass.

Granddad Jack’s Craft Distillery | Miami and Albion

The Gold Coast’s first distillery, Granddad Jack’s is a family operation, creating vodkas, gins, whiskeys and liqueurs in loving memory of their grandad, Jack. After well and truly making their mark with awards presented across their range, the distillery has set their sights on the big smoke, with an exciting new Brisbane distillery and tasting room open in Albion. Complete with a botanical greenhouse, the opening coincides with the launch of their new Albion Gin. Tours, tastings and make your own gin sessions are available at both venues.

Noosa Heads Distillery | Noosaville

Noosa’s first distillery is tucked inside the Land & Sea brewery, providing a laid back space to enjoy the adventurous and fun loving ethos of both brands. Their Fortune range began with a gin, vodka and white malt and now includes a range of special releases. Head on down to the distillery for an impressive range of cocktails, beers and, of course, take-home bottles.

Pomona Distilling | Pomona

This beautiful distillery keeps community at the heart of everything it does, using locally sourced botanicals where possible and maintaining its mission of showcasing Pomona to the world. Producing premium gins and vodka, the rustic setting is perfect for exploring their range while soaking in the fresh air and stunning greenery.
