Beenleigh Artisan Distillers (Rum, liqueurs, RTDs)
Did you know Australia’s oldest operating distillery is nestled in Eagleby? Using molasses from the country’s only remaining family-owned sugar mill (and others across Queensland), their products include copper pot-distilled rum, aged rums, white rum, spiced rum and even rum liqueur and RTDs mixed with cola or ginger and lime! Milton Rum Distillery (Rum, liqueurs)
XXXX and a sugarcane champagne distillery in the very same suburb? It’s almost TOO Queensland… A rebirth of a distillery that first opened in the area back in the late-1800s, these folks bottle up some booze with really interesting stories; the Dirty Bird aperitif is made with fruit and herb waste from local bars and restaurants! Brewing up the good stuff from grain to glass, Brisbane Distillery takes everything you know about spirits and makes them taste… local! Their range of gins using Aussie botanicals like pepperberry, Kakadu plum and ironbark are award-winning, while their rhum (no, not rum) follows French Caribbean AOC rules and is aged in ex-Pedro Ximenez barrels.
