Christmas parties you don’t have to organise

It's time to blast Bublé and Mariah... Christmas is here.

If one thing’s for sure, Christmas has popped up again mighty quickly (not that we’re complaining), which means it’s high time to get the work buds together and have one festive finale.

If you’ve left it a touch late to book a blowout, or the end of the year just has you too dang stressed, just call us Santa because we’re giving you a gift this year; a list of the best Christmas parties you don’t have to organise. You’re welcome!

HOTEL DIABLO | EL CAMINO CANTINA SOUTH BANK

There’s a whole lot of fun stuff going on at El Camino Cantina South Bank’s upstairs venue, Hotel Diablo. Turning into a sassy club after dark on Fridays and Saturdays with flowing margaritas and DJs till midnight, Hotel Diablo is also a prime dining location in its own right. The Party Palooza package comes in at $69 a head, and includes a three-course Tex-Mex feast alongside a two-hour drinks package including over fifteen Cadillac-style margaritas!

CHRISTMAS PUTT PUTT | VICTORIA PARK

Are you ready to putt-y?If you’re wanting to mix up the end-of-year party routine this year, then Christmas putt putt is a hole-in-one! Victoria Park has transformed its putt putt course into a Christmas wonderland with plenty of snow, a sweet candy cane lane and Santa’s workshop, with plenty of Insta-worthy moments along the way. Stop by for a wood-fired pizza (or five) at Victoria Park Bistro post-putt, and that’s your party sorted!

PAINT & POP | BREAKFAST CREEK LIFESTYLE PRECINCT

It doesn’t matter if you’re not so gifted in the art department–as long as you like champagne and have an open mind, this one’s for you! Get set up in the newly opened Level 3 at Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct and enjoy the PAINT & POP session run by the masters of Cork & Chroma as you enjoy Veuve Clicquot and nibbles! The event runs for three nights (December 15 through 17) and tickets can be nabbed here

CHRISTMAS CINEMA | SOUTH BANK

Gather the gang, pull up your picnic rug, and prepare for a fun and tasty way to celebrate Christmas–eatSouthBank is hosting a pop-up cinema at the parklands’ River Quay Green between December 18 and 23. With family-friendly flicks from 6 pm and something a bit more grown up from 8 pm, the Christmas cinema is totally free, and totally licensed! Surrounding eateries will be slinging takeaway goods for the duration of the pop-up, and furry friends are welcome too… Just make sure they don’t nick your snacks.

YUM CHA AT STANLEY | CBD

Howard Smith Wharves’ hotspot Stanley has spent the back half of the year serving up delicious yum cha feasts for Sunday lunch, and there’s only two Sundays left before Christmas to snap it up with your nearest and dearest! Enjoy favourites like XO seafood dumplings, pork siu mai, and spicy chicken feet, with loads of add-ons available including an opulent champagne package. Get booking!

BITE CLUB AT THE TIVOLI | FORTITUDE VALLEY

Dinner and a show, but make it extra.

This December, the Tivoli is being transformed to welcome cult-cabaret performers Briefs Factory International alongside the ever-talented Sahara Beck for an immersive culinary cabaret theatre performance! Enjoy gourmet bites courtesy of City Winery as you’re wowed by the show, and celebrate the silly season in style!

SUMMER RACING CARNIVAL | EAGLE FARM
