Grab a slice of Brisbane’s best pizza

Nothing tops a good slice of ‘za.

It’s there for you after a big night, it’s enjoyed by the metre with family and friends in celebration, and it makes for a cheap pre-payday feed after an internet hunt for coupon codes.

Brace yourself for meat that can’t be beat, wood-fired slices in all their glory, and unique combinations that’ll tickle your curiosity. Welcome to our top picks of Brisbane’s pizza scene.

VICI | SOUTH BANK

VICI is a South Bank favourite for a reason. Whether you’re stopping by for a glass of wine or diving into a wood-fired feast, it’s always the place to be. While the Prosciutto, Tre Formaggi, and classic Margherita are total crowd-pleasers, there’s an even bigger reason to visit this week. To celebrate International Pizza Day on Monday, 9 Feb, they’re hosting a bottomless pizza party! Enjoy 90 minutes of unlimited slices for just $49 pp from 5pm. Check it out here.

LA FAVOLOSA | WEST END

Bringing authentic Italian straight to the table, La Favolosa is the West End gem you need on your radar. The service is top-tier and the pizzas are nothing short of phenomenal; we’re particularly obsessed with the Diavola, a spicy hit of hot soppressata, mozzarella, and basil. What’s the secret to their light dough? Guess it’s something you have to experience for yourself.

RIVERBAR AND KITCHEN | CBD

For a classic pizza with a touch of Eagle St sophistication, Riverbar and Kitchen remains the ultimate riverside go-to. Their updated menu leans into fresh, bold combinations, we’re particularly fond of the Mortadella with buffalo mozzarella and pistachios, or the Mushroom and Truffle topped with fresh rocket. With gluten-free and vegan options now easily sorted, it’s the perfect spot to soak up the vibrant atmosphere with a slice in one hand and a cold one in the other.

SUPERFLY PIZZA | WOOLLOONGABBA

This little laneway joint does classic Italian bases topped with mod flavours, and a wine list that’s pretty legendary too. We highly rate the pepperoni for a loaded, indulgent feed, while the Paisano nails that tricky sweet and savoury balance. If you’re a purist, the Margherita is everything a classic should be, especially when dunked in their signature ranch dippy sauce. Check out Superfly Pizza here.

JULIUS PIZZERIA | SOUTH BRISBANE

A wood-fired pizza so good that you’ll forgo glancing at the specials board. Julius Pizzeria is the Italian icon that brings us all things traditional with an A+ for execution. The Tartufo is a total showstopper, loaded with mozzarella, smoked bacon, portobello mushrooms, and creamy stracchino, all tied together with a punchy truffle paste. It’s rich, earthy, and frankly, we can’t get enough of it. Seriously, help us.

IL VERDE | BOWEN HILLS

Looking for a great, classic Italian joint? Look no further than King Street’s famous Il Verde and its wood-fired beauties. The Capricciosa is delicious, a true Italian classic complete with a house-made tomato base, fior di latte, prosciutto, olives and shrooms. Just be sure to leave room for dessert: Panna Cotta…

CORBETT & CLAUDE | EVERTON PARK, CBD, MT GRAVATT

For the likes of elevated classics like the much-contested Hawaiian pizza with smoked ham and pineapple on a fresh and doughy handmade base, Corbett and Claude is all about satisfying your cravings. In fact, they offer $17 lunch specials from Mondays to Thursdays so you and your work besties can crack a slice and maybe even a midday beer!

Slice, slice, baby.
