Best of where to eat in New Farm

New Farm – the land of lycra, lattes, and Sundays in the park...

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the bright lights of the Valley lies the tranquil oasis of New Farm – here, you’ll find the Powerhouse, poodles, and plenty of places to brunch ‘n’ lunch.

BAR ALTO

For contemporary Italian cuisine and breathtaking views, look no further than Bar Alto. Located in the art, music and cultural hub of the Brisbane Powerhouse, Bar Alto is the ideal location to get together over exquisite Italian food, wine, and spritzes.

We highly recommend digging into a kilo of mussels with chilli, garlic, tomato and ciabatta, which pairs perfectly with an Aperol spritz (tried and tested, many times).

BALFOUR KITCHEN

Set in a stunning renovated Queenslander, Balfour Kitchen is a must-do experience when visiting New Farm. Pick a seat on either the breezy verandah or magical fairy-lit courtyard to enjoy some of Brisbane’s best Vietnamese-inspired cuisine with a modern twist. Head upstairs to the rooftop bar – preferably with a beverage in hand – for the ideal location to take in stunning city views before or after dinner.

MYLK AND KO

If you’re all about nourishing your body from the inside, Mylk & Ko is your jam. At this cute-as-a-button cafe, you’ll find a brekky menu of scrumptious eats that your body will thank you for. Think epic acai bowls, loaded smoothies and hearty meals such as smashed avo, fritters and burgers to kick-start your day.

CHAI THAI

It’s safe to say that Chai Thai is dishing up some of the best Thai in town with a range of classic and fusion meals served in a cosy, casual atmosphere. You’ll find all your favourite curries, stir-fries and Pad Thai – and they also have delivery, ‘cause everything tastes even better whilst snuggled up on the couch.

DICKI’S

Calling all animal lovers! Dicki’s is serving up vegan goodness for breakfast, lunch and dinner right on Brunswick Street. Non-vegans, you’re still bound to find a dish on their extensive menu that tickles your fancy. For something substantial, go for their breakfast burrito with spiced rice, scrambled tofu, black beans, kale salsa, and hash brown wrapped in a soft tortilla.

JOEDY’S

Coming from a farming family, Joedy’s recognises the importance of locally sourced produce and implements this into their thoughtfully handcrafted menu. The customer service is just as good as their coffee (which is picture perfect!), and the portion sizes won’t leave anyone wishing they had more. Joedy’s features a seasonal menu, so you always know you’re getting the best produce around.
