With some hot new watering holes and eateries popping up left, right and centre, we have some intoxicating news to share with you.
So, good news or bad news first? The charming Boom Boom Room is set to close its doors for three months in early 2020 for basement rectification works. We are excited to reveal, however, that The Boom Boom Room will be popping up at sister bar Blackbird Bar & Grill every Friday night from 5pm. The pop-up will have that same sleek vibe and stunning signature cocktails as The Boom Boom Room, giving you your boom boom fix until its re-opening in March 2020. The opulent New Year’s Eve event will be The Boom Boom Room’s final send off before the temporary closure – read more about that here.
2019 saw its fair share of exciting restaurants and bars opening up around town, and 2020 is already starting to look pretty damn delicious. Set to open in late January, Commercial Road Public Bar will be the chilled-out wine bar of your dreams, focusing on accessibility and local appeal. Drinks on offer at the Newstead spot will include – you guessed it – loads of wine, as well as craft beers and unique cocktails, and a food menu strong on European summer flavours.
We’re not crying… there’s just some glitter in our eye. Nostalgic Brisbanites have just one weekend left to enjoy the glittery pop-up that is South Bank’s The Tinsel Bar. Located just off the eclectic Fish Lane, The Tinsel Bar celebrates the best and most delicious parts of your childhood, serving up Frosty Fruit frappes, pop rocks, fairy bread, push-pops and bolognese toasties. Catch us at The Tinsel Bar for one last tinsel-laden party before it shuts its doors on Sunday.
It’s no secret that Comuna Cantina is one of Brisbane’s hottest South American eateries, and the owner Tim Johnson is keeping the fire burning with the announcement of a brand new venue set to open in 2020. A new Comuna Cantina will open at the base of The Annex on the corner of Creek Street and Elizabeth Street, a short walk away from the Albert Street eatery, and Johnson’s other baby, Corbett & Claude.
Brisbane’s bustling food scene is refusing to take a break over the holiday season!
