Holy shnitz! Do we have some foodie news for you...

New menus, new venues and new foodie specials are popping up across Brisbane, so here’s the inside scoop!

Chicken schnitty lovers across Australia are rejoicing as The Bavarian has announced they’re giving away 3,400 fat, fresh and FREE schnitzels to their loyal customers. Guests who spend over $20 at The Bavarian or Munich Brauhaus in one transaction until December 30 will go into the running to win 100 chicken schnitzels for a year! The winner at each of the 34 locations will be announced on January 17. A brand new menu made for summer is also set to debut at The Bavarian restaurants, featuring lighter bites like potted smoked salmon with dill, crème fraiche, creamed horseradish and lavosh, alongside a cold cut meat and cheese platter.

The Garden Pantry’s newest café, Barko & Co., has officially opened its doors in the heart of West End. The brainchild of Raex Murillo, a foodie who is famous for his eco-friendly practices and sustainable ethos, this joint is all about dishing up delicious eats in health- and eco-conscious fashion. Expect a locally-sourced menu with everything from a classic avo on toast to a range of healthy acai bowls and loads of gourmet Spanish bites. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Barko & Co. runs alongside a sister café of the same name in Teneriffe, which is hella popular among locals!

It’s no secret that Jocelyn’s Provisions is adored by the good people of Brisbane, and we’re very excited to share with you the news of an upcoming fourth location! Opening in mid-December, the CBD outfit will serve up the iconic cakes, breads and savoury pastries that have made Jocelyn’s a household name, with added breakfast and lunch items tailored to the city crowd. Expect to see a sandwich and salad division whipping up fresh eats, with a new range of dips, fruits and cheese platters for those seeking catering for meetings.

Just months after a fire tragically gutted its home, New Farm Deli is stoked to announce it will officially reopen at Merthyr Village on Friday, November 29. In celebration of the reopening of the Brisbane icon, you’re invited to join the Anello family for a morning of festivities with plenty of Italian fare, pop-up stalls serving focaccia, paninis and pastries, as well as jumping castles and face painting for the little ones. Even better, the proceeds from every coffee purchased between 6am and 11am will go straight to the Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland Inc. How much caffeine is too much caffeine? In the name of charity, the limit does not exist.
