Word on the street: foodie news

We can already feel our wallets getting lighter.

There’s some exciting foodie news coming your way, Brisbane!

Let’s face it – everyone’s favourite part of their schooling days were those epic bake sales. Used as a way to raise money for much-needed causes, they were also a fantastic way to trade your pocketful of gold coins for some baked goodness. This December, the amazing team from Jocelyn’s Provisions are holding a “bake for a farmer” bake sale at Albion Fine Trades to raise funds for Australia’s drought relief. A cause everyone should get behind, the event will only be made better with goodies on offer from some Brisbane heavyweights, including Jocelyn’s, Arc Dining, Ben Williamson, e’cco bistro, Gerard’s Bistro, Hellenika, Tartufo and many more.

Officially opening this Thursday, November 14, is the highly, HIGHLY anticipated UPSTAIRS at Toombul. The new dining playground is overflowing with delicious eats that we can’t wait to try, and loads of entertainment for all. We’re talking circus-themed arcade bar Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq, as well as burger joint Hello Harry, Japanese hotspot Niku Ramen, and chic Italian eatery Il Gancio, among others. You’ll have to roll us down those stairs when we’re done…

For your own good, you must get your hands and mouths wrapped around one of Melt Brothers’ oozy, cheesey toasties. Everything in the world is good again, because from next Monday, the team at Melt Brothers are bringing back their iconic Mi Goreng Crazy special for a limited time. Sandwiched in between two slices of white sourdough cottage loaf, you’ll find mie-goreng noodles, roast chicken, fried egg, ABC sauce, aged cheddar cheese, sriracha mayo and spring onions. And it’s utterly droolworthy.

We have word that there is an exciting new rooftop bar coming to the northside, from the minds that brought us Comuna Cantina and Corbett & Claude. December will see Tetto Rooftop Bar open in Everton Plaza, bringing the sun-soaked coastal bars of Italy to Brissy! Expect loads of rustic Italian aesthetics and a menu fuelled by summer flavours, with a focus on refreshing cocktails. Summer is looking real snazzy,
