Word on the street: foodie news

We’re struggling to contain our excitement over this week’s foodie news.

So we’d best share it with you. Here’s everything you need to know, from delicious new restaurants opening their doors, to exciting global concepts coming to town.

From the team who brought us the cheesy, carb-loaded goodness of Il Verde, prepare your mind, body and mouth for the newest addition to the family… Il Gancio. This authentic Italian spot is set to open shortly at the highly anticipated UPSTAIRS at Toombul, dishing up all the pizza and pasta you could ever ask for.

Oh, Stanley. We are beyond pumped that this Cantonese-style eatery has officially opened its doors, and we will have to practice some serious self-control to stop ourselves going everyday. Sitting pretty at the iconic Howard Smith Wharves, this is your new go-to if you love good views, insanely fresh produce, and the punchiest of flavours.

The word Oche doesn’t only mean the line which players must stand behind in the game of darts. It is also the name of the Valley’s hottest new venue, serving up delicious eats, cold beers, unique cocktails and, you guessed it, darts! Watch this space, Brissy, Oche is set to open its doors in early December.

Because we know all good things come in fours, Brisbane’s popular café and donut spot nodo is set to open its fourth shop in South Bank next week. Described as a hybrid of the express City location and the chillaxed Camp Hill cafe, the new nodo will be super cosy and have loads of grab-and-go options, including their quintessential baked goods.

The world’s greatest cinnamon roll. Great – we still have your attention. US bakery giant Cinnabon is hopping on a plane, coming to Aus, and bringing a whole load of sweet, sweet buns with them. A little birdie tells us there will be Cinnabon stores open at Garden City, Toombul and Nundah by early next year, and we cannot wait to ingest ALL the sugary goodness. Dentists of Brisbane are shaking.
