Where to take Mum for Mother’s Day in Brisbane

With Mother's Day on Sunday, May 9, 2021 fast approaching, we’ve rounded up some delicious spots in Brisbane to spoil the number-one lady in your life.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a terrible toddler (what are you doing here?), awkward adolescent or struggling semi-adult, we all have a lot to thank our mum (or mum-figure!) for.

Read on for Brisbane’s best Mother’s Day events to celebrate the lady who always (like, always…) knows what’s best.

Sofitel Brisbane Central | CBD

Spoil Mum with one of Sofitel Brisbane Central’s many options! Start the day with a buffet breakfast in Thyme2 Restaurant ($55 adults/$27 children 4-12), or enjoy a buffet lunch ($99 adults/$42 children 4-12), with a bottomless Aussie sparkling wine add-on available from 9 am!

Sofitel Brisbane Central is known for its stunning high tea, so why not use Mother’s Day as the perfect excuse to book in? There’ll be two options for the occasion: a buffet-style high tea in the Cuvee Lounge, with two-hour seatings from 10:30 am ($69 adults or $89 with bottomless French Blanc de Blanc/$35 children 4-12), or a traditional tiered high tea in the gorgeous Club Milliseme on level 30 ($89 adults or $99 with a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvee/$45 children 4-12) at 10:30 am or 1:30 pm.

Thyme2 Restaurant is also serving dinner from 5:30 pm, so you can treat Mum to the likes of chargrilled octopus with sweet yellow peppers, confit duck with duck fat kipflers, peas and red witlof, and Valrhona milk chocolate mousse. You can learn more about Sofitel’s Mother’s Day options here.

Regatta Hotel | Toowong

Kick off Mum’s day in The Boatshed, with seatings for a la carte breaky at 7:30 am or 9:30 am. For $40 per adult or $15 per child, The Boatshed will be dishing up naughty and nice breakfast options like buttermilk pancakes with Lindt chocolate, grilled banana, salted caramel ice cream and maple syrup, plus a coffee or juice!

Upstairs in the historic dining space, the highly anticipated buffet breakfast is already booked out, but there are still seats available for the long lunch, running from 12 pm to 3 pm! For $69 for adults and $25 per child, the fam can enjoy sleep-in before filling up on a share-style lunch with the likes of chilli and herb prawns, roasted prime rib and Caprese salad, with a bellini on arrival for Mum! Treat her to a day she’ll never forget by booking in here.

Victoria Park | Herston

Victoria Park has the whole family covered with delicious options this Mother’s Day, with the Victoria Park Bistro open from 7 am for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner off the seasonal menu until 8:30 pm!

Book in for breaky to hoe into chorizo and potato cake eggs Benedict (with a cheeky mimosa on the side for Mum, of course), sleep in and visit for modern bistro meals like char-grilled lamb rump with smoky eggplant puree, pomegranate and parsnip crisps for lunch, or enjoy a dinner of share plates, pizzas and pasta, maybe with a sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce to finish her day in a sweet way!

Whenever you visit, the kids games area is guaranteed to keep them entertained, and there’s plenty of parking to make getting there easy—learn more and book in to celebrate Mum at Victoria Park Bistro here.

The Mother’s Day high tea will run from 1:30 pm to 4 pm (with arrivals from 1 pm), and comes in at $85 for adults, $45 for teens aged 13-17, and $25 under-12s (with bubs under three free).
