Where to celebrate Thanksgiving in Brisbane

Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26.

We have a lot to be thankful for around here, and we don’t mind borrowing an American holiday as an excuse to celebrate–especially if there’s turkey and pie.

Since the Thanksgiving tradition of eating absurd amounts of food with the people you love just so happens to be our favourite thing to do, it only felt right that we find the best spots in Brisbane to indulge in all of the classic Thanksgiving trimmings this fourth Thursday in November.

PIE TOWN | WEST END

When it comes to pies, West End’s Pie Town is breaking out of its shell (crust?) with all its usual sweet and savoury American-style delights, plus an epic turkey, cranberry and brie-filled beauty. Make sure to leave room for that perfectly spiced pumpkin pie, though.

BUFFALO BAR | CBD

Our fav ‘Murican spot in the city and a perfect place to eat, drink, and be merry, Buffalo Bar is hosting a very special Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday evening. Enjoy three courses of eats ranging from bite-sized canapés to a roast turkey main course and a classic pumpkin pie dessert, alongside a three-hour beverage package. The best part? The feast will only set you back $60 bucks a head! Book yourself in here

THE POD CAFE | ASCOT

Thanksgiving will not be done by halves at The Pod Cafe–the folks are going all out for lunch AND dinner! Take your pick from a range of classic American eats like apples with pumpkin dip, scalloped potatoes, yam cakes, roast turkey, ham, blackberry cobbler, pecan pie, and more. Bookings are available here.

THE SMOKE BBQ | NEW FARM

The authentic Southern pitmasters at The Smoke BBQ are putting together a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night, showcasing all things barbeque! For just $49, enjoy a main and dessert of your choice, with those signature smoky flavours out in full force. Head here to see more and book your spot.

We’re thankful for all of these amazing Thanksgiving treats around town, let’s just hope our waistbands are strong enough.
