Welcome new food festival - The Curated Plate!

The Curated Plate Festival
Giving the coast even more to boast about.

The Sunshine Coast is like the guy your mum wants you to settle down with – good with kids, knows a deal or two about food, easy on the eyes, dating like 1,000,000 other people but at least they’re up front about it.

It just so happens that our beloved Sunny Coast is using their emerging foodie hotspot reputation to land a sweet gig!

The Curated Plate will make its inaugural appearance from August 8-11, creating a new four-day destination food festival celebrating the coast’s best. After a year of teasing and waiting, the featured events lineup has been partially announced to reveal 12 stellar events with more to come.

Acclaimed produce and producers, sustainability, artisan culture, and health and wellness will flourish throughout the festival in a seriously huge series of food trails and farm tours, with one highlight including Tokyo’s two Michelin-starred chef, Zaiyu Hasegawa, teaming up with Sunshine Coast chef Daniel Jarrett (from one-hatted fave The Tamarind) and Gelato Messina’s Donato Toce for a creative spin on Japanese multi-course haute cuisine.

Starting to get a feel of what to expect? It’s nothing less than excellent, friends.

Another event presented by Good Food will put you in an even better mood. Dubbed The Legends Lunch, Peter Gilmore (Quay, Bennelong) and one of Australia’s most talked about chefs, Analiese Gregory (Franklin), will join forces for an all-out lavish long lunch with three courses and matched wines. The view overlooking Mount Coolum will be the cherry on top.

A few free-to-enter events have been worked into the program (our wallets could only take so much), such as a curated food fair at Black Swan Park. Fair-goers will be able to taste the best of what the Sunshine Coast has to offer, as well as talk to the producers, enjoy pop-ups by local eateries and some family fun with entertainers.

Between all the the award-winning chefs, venues and local produce, you’ll find a newfound love for the slick Sunshine Coast. Keep an eye on all the event details as they pop up here.

Tickets are on sale from 9am (AEST) Tuesday 19 March for subscribers of The Curated Plate e-newsletter (subscribe here) and general public goes on sale from 9am (AEST) Thursday 21 March.
