Weekend Eatinerary: Eumundi

Eumundi Tour Guide
You’ll be spoilt for choice and quality in Eumundi!

With so many foodie havens to explore and taste-test, we have done our best to squeeze in a healthy amount of foodie fun for you! Who needs to make their own itinerary? We’ve done the hard work for you so you can max the relax time.

Saturday

If you really want to spoil yourself (or someone special) our pick for accommodation would be the absolutely stunning Hamptons-style Farmhouse Eumundi. Set on 23 acres, enjoy an array of outdoor activities like swimming, tennis, basketball, picnics, egg collecting and even alpaca feeding! If you’re more indoorsy, there’s plenty of fab cosy spaces to bask in the quiet serenity the property offers (so don’t forget to pack your favourite book or mag!).

After a busy week, a sleep-in on your first morning may be hard to avoid with the sounds of nothing but nature to disturb you. We know you’ll be wanting to make the most of the day so set about satisfying those breakfast cravings first. Cue The Fig Tree. Positioned in the very centre of Eumundi, stroll down to this little gem and order from your choice of eggs Benny, smoked trout omelettes, bircher muesli or house-made acai berry sorbets, plus so much more! Cross the road to the renowned Eumundi Markets for a little post-breaky shop and grab a bite (or three) from the huge array of fabulous food stalls – after all, they are Eumundi’s most famous attraction!

Once you’ve covered the site and shopped til you (almost) drop, we’d recommend heading to The Spice Garden for an afternoon when you can have your banquet and eat it too! Local lady Ursula has cultivated an extensive and profound knowledge of all things Thai so if you want some lunch with a side dish of education, hit The spice Garden up!

Heading back to your accommodation, we bet it’s about wine o’clock before heading off to dinner, so why not take in the pristine views of the sunset over a glass of vino and a few nibbles? When those peckish feelings start to stir for your evening meal, we’d recommend heading to The Spirit House – one of Australia’s best kept culinary secrets. Bookings in advance are absolutely essential, however, their Hong Sa Bar has a tapas-style menu and does not require bookings.

Not a fan of Southern Asian cuisine? Eumundi’s newest Italian joint, Il Mio Posto is sure to hit the spot. Offering all those Italian foodie favourites, walk-ins are more than welcome for those living their best, spontaneous lives.

Things To Do In Eumundi

Sunday

To nurse last night’s probable wine hangover, we’d suggest a brisk walk into town in search of a cure, which you can find at adorable organic supermarket/café, The Store Eumundi. On the menu there’s  Colombian coffee, fresh juices and smoothies, local gourmet pies, local gluten-free cakes and of course, a mean bacon and eggs.

Hangover treated, and in the name of healthy digestion of said breakfast, why not check out the local shops on High Street to fill in your morning? For art enthusiasts, we recommend checking out Red Desert Gallery, Jane Welsh Art, Artisans Gallery Eumundi and  Wan’din’in Art Space.

For the bibliophiles among us, Berkelouw Book Barn and Café is an absolute must-visit treasure trove of books, and a great spot to grab a quick coffee after browsing around the shelves. For fashionistas – hold onto your credit cards while you comb through the racks of Eumundi Style and for jewellery and leather goods collectors, Cinnabar Soul, The Real McCaul, and David Frith Jewellery will have you dripping in good taste!

If you’re seeking a bit of a challenge and some fresh air after your decadent weekend, we’d recommend spending a few hours exploring the nearby Noosa National Park (suitable for all ages and fitness levels) or climbing Mt Coolum (which requires a reasonable level of fitness). After working off breakfast and working up your appetite for lunch, we’d suggest popping into the Imperial Hotel Eumundi for delicious food and drinks, live entertainment and sweeping views of Eumundi’s main street.

Stylishly decorated with rustic charm, you can also undertake a Brewery tour where you can learn about the town’s brewing history, discover why the Hotel’s craft beers are so great and learn about the process of beer making before quenching your thirst with their ‘tasting log’ of lager, pale ale and other seasonal beers. Cheers to that!

Tummies full and feeling refreshed? We’re sorry to say that tomorrow is Monday, so life will return to normal,  but while you’re checking out of Eumundi, you can check-in to a fresh mental state for the new week ahead.
