We’ve been rocking the suburbs a lot lately and are growing quite fond of our not-so-metropolitan haunts for our Brisbane cafe fix. Where else can you get easy parking, linger over a delicious meal and feel comfortable taking along your kids and puppy pals? And Red Hill’s very own Arthur’s Green is fast becoming one of our favourite spots to dine out for breakfast and lunch in the ‘burbs.
Take your friends, the kids and even the dog to Arthur’s Green’s funky outdoor café and start your day right with something off their scrumptious all day breakfast menu. There’s plenty of space to spread yourself and all your peeps out on the dining lawn, with umbrellas and shade-cloth to save you from the summer sun, and a marquee in case of a rainy day.
Chow down on our favourite brekky of the Mexican beans with house made tortilla chips, or try out the infamous spring onion hash browns with bacon and tomato relish for delicious morning noms. Both are worth getting out of bed for but there’s no need to drag yourself up at the crack of dawn, Arthur’s Green menu is all available until 2pm!
If you are the early bird type but you’ve already had three breakfasts by 11am, tuck into their steak sandwich with beetroot relish and cheddar for a savoury lunch-time feed. Top it off with a coffee and you’ll be fuelled up for an afternoon of Brisbane’s favourite past-time, barefoot bowls, at the Red Hill Bowls Club right next door. Talk about a suburban café with the lot!
Once your belly is full, you can wobble over to the green for a game of weekend bowls with the fam, fight over who’s balls got closer to the little white one (we only pretend to know how to play, obviously) and then relax with a fresh juice from Arthur’s Green for an afternoon pick-me-up. If we were you, we’d be hitting up the tropical fizz, a cool and refreshing mix of passionfruit, orange, mango and lime.
So, next time you’re not sure where to spend your weekend eating (because we know you’re going to), check out this suburban cafe and bunker down for one of Brisbane’s best breakfasts AND lunches, with a little hanger inducing activity in between.
Arthur’s Green is open 7 days from 7am-2pm at 22 Fulcher Rd, Red Hill, Brisbane.
