This Weekend: Reclink Aussie Rules Community Cup Returns to Brisbane

10 Years of Kicks, Riffs & Community Spirit: Reclink Community Cup Returns to Brisbane

It’s that time of year again when local musos and media legends lace up their boots, smack on the guernseys, and hit the footy field all in the name of charity, live music, and community vibes. The Reclink Community Cup is back in Brisbane on Sunday 27 July, and this year it’s celebrating a massive milestone: 10 years of fierce footy, loud tunes, and even louder community support.

If you’ve never been to a Reclink Cup before, it’s not just any match. This is Brisbane’s ultimate crossover episode, where bands battle broadcasters, and AFL meets DIY gigs. The Rocking Horses (a wild bunch of Brisbane musicians) take on their long-time rivals, the Brisbane Lines (a lineup of media legends and industry pros), in a friendly-yet-fierce showdown to raise funds for Reclink Australia.

And trust us, this is more than just a game. Reclink provides life-changing programs through sport, recreation, and art for Aussies doing it tough, tackling everything from homelessness and addiction to mental health and isolation. Every goal scored, ticket sold, and guitar riff played helps support that mission.

This year’s theme? ‘Ordinary Angels’, paying tribute to the everyday heroes who keep our community thriving, from the ones setting up stages and community sport to the people cheering from the sidelines or spinning tracks on local radio.

Expect a family-friendly day jam-packed with local flavour. There’ll be live sets from Brissie legends Girl and Girl, Arugula, and DVD, AFLQ-hosted kids’ activities, food trucks, bars, and enough community spirit to rival a grand final crowd.

It’s grassroots sport. It’s local music. It’s the Brisbane scene showing up for each other in the best possible way.

🎟️ Tickets are super affordable: $15.30 for adults, $8.20 for under-18s, or grab the whole fam a pass for $30.60 at communitycup.com.au
