Hold onto your elasticated waists Brisbane, the wait is over and The Wolfe is here, an impressive new installation in the booming Brisbane dining scene that will have you howling for more. This shiny new venue brings contemporary fine dining to East Brisbane, allowing “a bit of luxury close to home” for the local crowd.
Owner-operator Paul McGivern already has a reputation for opening stand out Brissy hotspots, having previously gifted the city with two of our old fave watering holes, Rapide and Hamilton’s Manx. So there’s no doubt that this new venture by one of Brissy’s best is hound to be the east side’s new favourite spot to wine and dine.
If you think the city’s eating scene has been up to its eyeballs in burgers and chicken wings (if we eat another, we might start clucking ourselves), you’re in for a real treat with The Wolfe. It’s bringing something new to the gourmet dining scene with a focus on contemporary Australian fare, The Wolfe offers a menu that will change every four weeks, reflecting what produce is fresh and in season. And for the green thumbs among us, there’s even plans for an organic vegetable garden to be integrated into the outdoor area, which means when they say ‘fresh’ and ‘local’ – you know they’re legit.
Expect to be tempted by tantalising entrees such as cured ocean trout with spiced pastry, crème fraiche and caviar, and hearty mains such as the Black Angus with charcoal mushrooms and anchovy and chilli butter (can you say food baby?).
With a main dining room, hidden outdoor courtyard and an exquisite 120-year-old oak bar (we told you it was fancy) for you to enjoy a pre-dinner drink, The Wolfe focuses strongly on new and old world French Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as local drops, for you to wet your whistle.
The Wolfe will be open from Thursday through to Saturday for lunch and Tuesday through to Saturday for dinner. So don’t wait for a full moon, get down to the east side ASAP for a taste of the latest culinary masterpiece to hit Brisbane.
