Regardless, we’re not heading there to sip tea with spiders (polar bears on the other hand). In true Queenslander spirit, we’ve taken to the north for a summer getaway full of road-trip worthy eats, adventures, and of course, a healthy dose of Bundy Rum.
Take the picturesque route to a pitcher perfect escape following our legendary list below.
Bundaberg Rum
Make your mark at Bundaberg Rum with a historic distillery tour, and a Blend Your Own Rum Experience to kick off your field trip. You’ll learn the subtle craft of blending, and creating your very own blend to take home and enjoy (and enjoy you will).
Eleven Acres
Wine, dine and unwind at Eleven Acres. Grab a glass of your favourite vino to pair with confit pork belly, broccoli mushroom and mustard, or Emerald Valley free range lamb rump with lamb fat potato, smoked aubergine, cherry tomato and tongue. Go one better and get the roasted banana bread and butter pudding for dessert!
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Brewery Experience
Having just re-opened to the public, you can be one of the first to experience fresh tidings in the form of Bundaberg brewed drinks. Be one with ginger beer and enter the Bundaberg Barrel, where you’ll learn all its secrets and be treated to The Sampling Bar. Sip your way through 14 captivating flavours and grab some sweet merch to remember the day!
Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing Company
You’ll be over the moon with gin, vodka and liqueurs curated by former Bunderberg Rum master distiller, Rick Prosser. Kalki is the region’s newest distilling company, bringing fresh flavours to your next cocktail party – and the barrel aged gin is a G&G fave. Keep an eye out for 2019, as a batch of rum is set to be released for your drinking pleasure!
Ohana Cider House
Nobody gets left behind at Ohana Cider House. Queensland’s only cider house lives up to the pressure, pumping out crisp cider with only the best Queensland grown apples. We can taste the true blue spirit already! You can also get acquainted with tropical fruit wine and liqueurs.
Bargara Brewing Company
Honey, we’re home. The Brewhouse is Bargara Brewing Company’s humble abode for all things craft beer, serving the likes of Hip Hop, Drunk Fish and Thirsty Turtle brews for a little taste of culture. The on-site Brewhouse Restaurant is a must, with plenty of pizza, nachos and grazing boards to get around.

Get on the bandwagon with the Bundy Drinks Tour, a personalised half-day tour that will whole-heartedly exceed your expectations by allowing you to explore Bundaberg Rum, Kalki Moon Distillery & Brewing Company, Bargara Brewing Company, and the newest addition to the Bundy craft drinks scene, Ohana Cider House & Tropical Winery. Rum, don’t walk, to Bundaberg.
Keeping the G&G up to date with tasty tidbits requires a lot of lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. Rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
