Brisbane's fluffiest pancakes

Start your day with something a little fluffy.

We’re definitely not the type to dictate how much syrup people should enjoy on their pancakes, but we will say this much: the more, the better! Whether you’re a fruit-topped, a chocolate-chipped, or an oven-baked, there’s a pancake out there for all of us.

SASSAFRAS | PADDINGTON

Batter up, buttercup. Sassafrass’ ricotta hotcakes are so legendary up in here that there’d be a mad riot if they ever disappeared from the menu! Sassing your tastebuds with their own house-made honeycomb butter and topped off with organic maple syrup, they sure do stack up against our measure.

Grub Street | Gaythorne

For those without a sweet tooth (weird…), Grub Street does a mean savoury carrot pancake number. Served smeared in hummus and with haloumi, wilted greens, and red pepper relish, this may just become your new favourite breakfast. Allergen sufferers take note, they can be made GF and DF, too!

Little Clive | Annerley

Prepare to be smothered by the pure deliciousness of the vanilla bean pancakes at Little Clive. Served with pickled rhubarb, strawberry maple, almonds and Chinotto jelly, they’re the perfect comfort-food way to start your day in gourmet style.

FUEL & CO. | NUNDAH

How can one hotcake be so filling? When you see the size of Fuel & Co’s luscious raspberry and white choc oven-baked hotcake, you’ll see how. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and topped with maple syrup, vanilla ice cream, and toasted coconut, this bad boy will keep you going all day until you have to come back tomorrow and refuel…

Chow House | Fortitude Valley

Chow down on this bad boy: a buttermilk hotcake with grilled banana, toasted seeds and nuts, salted caramel, and crème fraiche. Now that’s a tasty way to start the day!

Picnic Café | Camp Hill

If you like a bit of chocolate with your breakfast (don’t we all) then Picnic Café’s pancakes are for you. Covered in Tim-Tams, Nutella, strawberries, gingerbread crumble, pistachios and ice cream, they’ll have you abandoning boring old eggs Benny for a sugar overdose in no time.

MISS BLISS | WEST END

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to try this season’s hotcake at Miss Bliss – the vegan Caramylk hotcake! Miss B. will hook your hotcake up with coconut ice cream, tropical granola, roasted banana, and summer fruits, and it’s as heavenly as that first time you tried Cara-milk.

THE SMUG FIG | EAST BRISBANE

Smug? You will be after realising you chose the right place for breakfast after landing The Smug Fig’s ricotta hotcake with whipped banana cream, fresh strawberries, Nutella sauce, and roasted peanuts!

Desperate? The Pancake Manor is still open 24/7.
