The best booze, bites and beats at Teneriffe Festival

Teneriffe Festival is back for another year of awe-inspiring music performances, gourmet food, street eats and a diverse range of cultural experiences.

Celebrating its 13th year, Teneriffe Festival is back for another year of awe-inspiring music performances, gourmet food, street eats and a diverse range of cultural experiences. On Saturday May 27th, from 10am to 9pm, Teneriffe Festival has you covered – loosen those belt loops, bring your appetite and dust off those dancing shoes.

MUST DRINK

Days & Daze Wine Garden

They say “rosé all day”, so why not indulge at the Days & Daze Wine Garden. Between the sun rising and the sun setting on Vernon Terrace, take in their signature shiraz or Sunswill pinot gris as you un-wine-d while soaking up their naturally crafted flavours.

Milton Rum

The exotic is only a sip away. Bringing their unique taste of Brazil to Brisbane, those with a hankering for something spicy will find comfort at the Milton Rum stall, where their brand of reimagined rum will infuse you with the citrus, lemon, myrtle and spice of their Spiced Cane spirit.

MUST EAT

Brat Haus: Authentic German Sausage

Australia’s best – and biggest – sausage brings the authenticity of Germany to Teneriffe locals. Whether you’re after something spicy, like their Knackwurst, or you want that cheesy taste of a Kranski, the Brat Haus stall is a must-do for your festival flavour palate.

OMG! Decadent Donuts

A day at the festival isn’t complete without satisfying your sweet tooth, and a stack of handmade fluffy doughnuts from these guys will definitely have you screaming OMG! in utter delight.  You won’t find any basic flavours here; OMG! is all about thinking outside the (baker) box, so prepare to feel ‘berry sinful’ with Tasmanian raspberries, cacao, chilli and sea salt, or ‘cacao delish’ with far north Queensland cacao, mint oil and sea salt.

MUST DO

Tennis Australia “Pop” Tennis Court

Yes, there’s more to do at the Teneriffe Festival than eat and drink. Work up a second appetite by joining in the fun of the Tennis Australia pop-up tennis court. The equipment and referees are covered, they just ask you bring your own 80’s fluoro sweatband to really go for an ace.

Flowature

In a sea of thousands, you’ll want to stand out, and Flowature will have you boldly making a fashionable statement. Australian made and curated for a unique individuality, you’ll walk away not only looking good, but feeling good too, as every pair of earrings sold equates to one tree being planted in their quest to better our country.

MUST LISTEN

Boy & Bear

That’s right; the Sydney-based indie folk band, Boy & Bear, will be headlining this year’s festivities.  Playing at 7pm, the Aria Award winners will keep the party going across a lively set that is sure to include such hits as “Harlequin Dream”, “Southern Sun” and their latest release, “Strange World”.

GANGgajang

Playing on the Triffid Stage (and with our heartstrings), nostalgia is in full swing with GANGgajang, the 80’s tribe and the World Pro Surfers Association favourite band. You won’t want to be sitting “out on the patio” when this classic band sings classics such as “Sounds of Then”, “House of Cards” and “Gimme Some Lovin’”.
