The food and booze scene and local producers of the Moreton Bay region will be on show from August 1 until September 19 when Tastes of Moreton Bay rolls in from the coast to the crops!
On top of the ever-popular Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival to launch the program on Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1, 15 additional events covering the bayside and the hinterland will provide the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the deliciousness on offer on Brisbane’s doorstep.
Highlights on the bayside agenda include a trawler-to-plate experience and lunch at the beloved Morgans Seafood on August 3, a jazz and gin dinner at Tempest restaurant overlooking the Scarborough harbour on August 26, and a brewers lunch with Horny Wombat Brewery at Cactus Jack’s on September 4.
Inland, there’s the likes of a jazz and seafood lunch or evening canapés and concerto classics for the music lovers, stunning dinners at the Loop Growers farm on August 20 and September 4, and a hands-on pasta academy and paint and sip workshop.
As well as the fixed-location events, a brewery experience will stop off at two breweries and two craft beer bars (plus dinner) for $169, and a hinterland tasting experience will shuttle guests between three primary producers, stopping off for a picnic lunch for $290.
This year, the Moreton Bay Food + Wine festival to welcome the six-week Tastes of Moreton Bay program will kick off with a launch party on Friday, July 30 before springing into a full weekend of local flavours; there’ll be a Local Tastes pavilion, celebrity chefs demo stage, pop-up craft beer bar, cocktail corner and more!
