Suburban foodies: Rosalie

Turns out this rose between two thorns (aka the brown snake and Legacy Way toll road) is a neighbourhood flooded with delicious restaurants and cafes.

It may be part of Paddington these days, but the distinctive old school charm of Rosalie has yet to fade! Housing everything from Nonna’s family-friendly restaurant to hidden rooftop cafes, here’s the G&G’s guide to the quirky and quaint eateries in Rosalie.

BLUE ROOM

Once in a blue moon, you’ll find a  combo you never knew you needed in your life until now. Case in point: The Blue Room Cinebar, which is a movie theatre and restaurant all in one!

Akin to vegging on the couch with Netflix (but fancy), The Blue Room allows guests to watch the latest blockbusters while treating the tastebuds to sizzling Mongolian beef and pepperoni pizza – and not a single piece of thrown popcorn in sight!

MOGA

In an odd twist of events, traditional Asian cuisine has gone vogue to give Brisbane the stunning Moga Izakaya, a modern Japanese bar serving up contemporary spins on sushi and grilled meat small plates.

Be sure to sashimi over for their unmissable wagyu tataki (thinly sliced rare grilled wagyu served with daikon and chilli pepper) before attacking their equally divine camembert cheese katsu, coated in breadcrumbs and served with lightly fried zucchini and spiced BBQ dipping sauce.

ROSA BLOOM

Who knew the secret garden was only a short drive away? Hidden high on a gorgeous terrace rooftop is Rosa Bloom, a blossoming café and event space perfect for an intimate gathering with friends over high tea, or a corporate retreat fuelled with delicious coffee and cheesy charcuterie plates. Get in the pink of this super cute café by enquiring today.

THE BRASS BARREL

Lock, stock, and barrel into this iconic gastropub for tasty British titbits and top brass drinks. Besides the requisite pork belly roast and other English meals, this pub also serves up scrumptious all-day Belgian waffles alongside an exquisite range of draught beers and tasty sparkling wines.

Well, that’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner sorted!

IL LOCALE

Brisbane, meet your new local, Il Locale! This family-oriented and cosy Italian restaurant is here to make one feel right at homewith a little help from their great pizza and pasta range

Enjoy comfort food at its finest by indulging in their handmade tagliatelle with EVOO and pecorino cheese, or their awesome boscaiola pizza; hot salami, olives, capsicum, and mozzarella on a tasty pizza base.
