You don’t have to go traipsing down alleyways or venturing underground to find a hidden cocktail bar in Brisbane, the secrets of the Glamour Bar are waiting to be found up a set of stairs in the heart of the Riverside Centre. A sophisticated retreat from the bustling city below, this sleek hidden bar is the perfect spot to escape your humdrum day and knock back a cocktail (or five) from the experts behind the bar.
Just head up the main entrance at Friday’s Riverside and take a sharp right and you’ll find yourself in corridor leading to the laneway-style bar. Don’t worry though, only a few short steps and you’ll be at the long, sleek bar, eyeing up the split slate wall dotted with bottles behind it, and trying to choose from the extensive menu. Which could take a while.
Whether you like your boozy weekend treats sweet, sour, frozen or creamy, there’s a cocktail for you on the Glamour Bar list. Got a sweet tooth? How about a Doctore d’amore, with Chambord, amaretto, cranberry and lime? Prefer them creamy? You can’t go past a Johnny Depp – oozing charm just like it’s namesake, it’s a sultry blend of rum, coconut cream and nutmeg.
Or if it’s someone closer who has you hot under the collar (like Mr. Tall, dark and brooding at the other end of the bar), cool down with a frozen Red Corvette, a blend of strawberry liqueur, Midori and Frangelico. You’ll be saying ‘helllo, handsome’ (to the cocktail, duh) in no time.
Those in for a big night might want to kick things off with a shooter or two (Jam Donut, anyone?), and then maybe take a jug out to the deck, where you can share sangria over the stunning view (whether it’s the Story Bridge or your new friend) and tapas.
Whether it’s the start of a big night or just the end of a long day, the Glamour Bar is the perfect cocktail bar in Brisbane to hideaway in.

Keeping the G&G up to date with all the latest tasty tidbits requires a lot of double lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
