We’re not glossing over the opening of Patina at Customs House

Customs House Restaurant Brisbane
All that glitters might not be gold, but Customs House's opulent new restaurant is proving to be just as precious. Patina is blowing us away with its polished finishes and refined execution, and we can’t help but be a little excited.

With the scene set overlooking the Brisbane River and The Story Bridge, a striking light installation and earthen ware and cutlery, even if they were serving donor kebabs we would still be there, but luckily the food is just as exquisite as the rest of the setting.

Paddock to plate spec is the name of the game, with the kitchen brigade scouring markets daily for only the freshest seafood and local produce. With a share plate focus, Executive Chef John Offenhauser has created a menu that will see you taking it slow, soaking in the ambience and cracking a bottle or two of local wines.

If you weren’t eager already, allow us – pan-fried gnocchi with roasted pine nuts, smoked raisins, kale and ricotta – chargrilled ocean king prawns with black pepper, curry leaf and sugarloaf – and the menu topper – 1KG Darling Downs OP rib with chimichurri, alongside a plethora of other share plate options – we’ll try and keep the heavy breathing down.

Diners can expect locally sourced and celebrated Rieslings, Rosés and Champagnes to compliment the menu, or if a late-night cocktail is more your preference, Patina boasts an elegant cocktail menu and a hefty spirit collection that will see you sipping your way to the end of the night with a fully tummy and a happy heart!
