New bars for summer sips

Summer calls for spritzes, cocktails and cold ones in the sunshine.

We’ve sniffed out the newest spots and most refreshing drinks around Brisbane, so all you need to do is don your linen and get sipping!

WILL & FLOW | CBD

Brand new beauty Will & Flow is already topping all of our lists for summer: Insta-worthy? Check. Bougie menu? Yep. Conveniently located near Boxing Day sales? Absolutely.

Spritzes, cocktails, and an enticing wine selection are the name of the game at this overwater bar by Treasury Brisbane, where you can down the likes of the Bitter Summer cocktail with Brisbane Gin, Campari, passionfruit, lime juice and grapefruit—refreshing!

As you admire the view, snack on the seasonal menu with an emphasis on fresh Aussie ingredients with a European twist; we’re talking abundant seafood platters, pizzas topped with prosciutto, salumi, mushroom and garlic, and scallops baked in creamy bechamel topped with crispy prosciutto crumb.

Open Thursday-Sunday, Will & Flow makes for the perfect sun-soaked sipping spot to catch a river breeze this summer! Check out the menu and make a booking here.

EL CAMINO CANTINA | SOUTH BANK

El Camino Cantina’s mammoth South Bank venue has only been around for a minute, but it’s certainly won us over. Their Ritapalooza event is running until January, with FIFTEEN limited-edition Cadillac margaritas on the cards, perfect for icy summer sipping. Our recc? The marshmallow ‘rita, of course.

CIELO ROOFTOP | FORTITUDE VALLEY

From the brains behind Salt Meats Cheese, Eterna and Australia’s best bar Maybe Sammy, La Costa is Brunswick Street’s hottest multi-level marvel housing four venues inspired by the Italian coastline. As well as downstairs bar La Costa, Cielo Rooftop opened up in mid-December and is a celebration of summer with a hefty cocktail list and a fresh menu centred around seafood. See us with a St Tropez Colada in hand (Bacardi white rum, pineapple, coconut and Moët & Chandon).

BAR BRUTUS | SOUTH BRISBANE

We’re saying ciao to summer and ciao to another of Fish Lane’s new sipping spots, Bar Brutus! Brutus popped up in early December with a menu of aperitivo, wines, cocktails and more, we’re heading to Brutus for the Ciao bella fragola–a summery spritz of gin, vanilla, strawberry, lemon, prosecco and soda.

KIKI | SOUTH BRISBANE

Inspired by the beach bars of Southeast Asia, Kiki is a kiosk in the centre of Fish Lane’s fresh new Town Square precinct. A cafe by morning, Kiki comes alive in the afternoon and evening when the intriguing cocktail menu comes into play. Our pick of the punch is the Fong Fuego, complete with blanco tequila, watermelon and Szechuan chilli.

COMUNA CANTINA | CBD

Post-work bevvies? Yes, sir. Sunny Sunday seshes? See you there. The all-new Comuna Cantina has opened up on Creek Street with a maxi Mex menu and huge array of Insta-worthy cocktails. Sweet tooths, you won’t want to miss the Creme Boujee cocktail of vanilla vodka, horchata liquor, Advokaat, white chocolate syrup and milk topped with a torched sugar shard.

‘Tis the season to sweat in Brisbane, and as the temperature rises, so too does the need to quench parched throats with a refreshing summer tipple!

Keeping The G&G up to date with tasty tidbits requires a lot of lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally collaborate with local businesses we love, like this one. To see how we can help you out and to learn more about our food-crazy audience, head here.
