The Comiskey Group has unveiled a game-changing $250 million expansion at Sandstone Point, creating the region’s first greenfield 5-star hotel. With 202 rooms across two architecturally striking buildings, guests can choose from one, two, or three-bedroom suites with scenic views of the pristine Pumicestone Passage.
More than just a place to get some rejuvenating shuteye, the resort will offer a full-scale destination experience. Leisure facilities include an expansive infinity pool overlooking the water, a stylish adults-only pool with a swim-up bar and live DJ sets, family-friendly pools, a rejuvenating wellness centre, and a fully equipped gym. A vibrant retail and entertainment precinct will also feature additional dining, indoor entertainment like bowling, and even a dedicated Tourism Information Centre.
To better support the large crowds drawn by concerts, functions, and major events, the expansion will also include enhanced event infrastructure, featuring upgraded concert facilities, expanded basement car parking, and a dedicated bus terminal — all designed to improve access and elevate the overall experience for event goers.
The expansion is set to create 995 new jobs and attract over 117,000 visitor nights annually, injecting an estimated $143.3 million into the local economy. By supporting local cafés, restaurants, and retailers, the project provides a boost to Moreton Bay’s small businesses and strengthens the region’s tourism profile ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
Poised to be your next weekend getaway, the expansion promises relaxation, entertainment, and coastal luxury all in one. With its combination of world-class accommodation and significant economic benefits, this new destination is setting up to become Queensland’s next must-visit escape for locals and travelers alike.
