Meet Gresham & Walter’s not-so-little sibling

Eagle Street welcomes a new institution by big names.

If you’ve strolled down the Brisbane River on the way to QUT or for a hot girl walk, you may have seen that Naldham House inside Dexus Place has seen some action after a bit of a dry spell. The 140-year-old Brisbane landmark has undergone restoration and is finally opening the doors on its bustling hospitality precinct today. And with a legendary team behind the launch, we’re raring to check it out.

The iconic three-storey building is home to three new venues, turning this into a one-stop spot for a night out. Naldham House is the latest venture from DAP & Co, co-owned by Andrew Baturo, Denis Sheahan and Paul Piticco, and the group behind institutions like Gresham Bar and Walter’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar. While that’s a tough act to follow, the central location and experienced talent on board make an impeccable duo.

Opening on July 18, the ground floor will be the Naldham House Brasserie and Terrace – tying in luxurious lobby vibes and European fare. The timing could not have been better, as this sounds like the perfect spot to don your coat and warm up with a whiskey-laden beverage. Once winter ends, the outdoor terrace begs for after-work drinks alongside the pan-Euro cuisine.

The brand-new menu is already turning heads with some seriously tempting choices. Kicking things off with entrees, the team have sourced a stellar lineup of local seafood: think Sydney rock oysters, Hervey Bay scallops, and Mooloolaba king prawns. Plus, they’ve thrown in some fancy favourites like hand-cut beef tartare and chicken liver parfaits.

The main courses keep the excitement going with dishes like oxtail ragu pasta, eye fillet steak, and a hearty beef cheek bourguignon pithivier that’ll surely hit the spot.

Out on the terrace, you can snack on all the brasserie goodies with a few more laid-back options mixed in. Picture yourself enjoying a classic steak and frites or a swanky wagyu cheeseburger while soaking in the stunning views and dining al fresco.

In the level above, late night libations are sorted with Club Felix. This sexy supper-club will be open until 2am, serving world-class cocktails and wines alongside a delightful mix of shareable snacks and small plates with a French-leaning touch. The menu is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, featuring salumi gnocco fritto, decadent potato pave with salmon caviar and crème fraîche, crispy bacalhau croquettes, and classic fried whiting sandwich fingers. And to top it all off, enjoy salted caramel madeleines or a tempting cheese platter for the perfect late-night indulgence.

As for the third venue, the team is keeping it well under wraps. Will a spring fling come to the party for Brisbane? We certainly hope so.
