Move over wine, it’s gin’s time to shine

One of Brisbane’s favourite wine spots has transformed to celebrate gin, with more than 80 varieties on offer count us in! Proud Henry Wine Bar & Ginoteca has opened in the space formerly known as Grape Therapy, celebrating all that’s fine in gin and wine. The intimate venue is a tribute to the 1920s, from art deco chandeliers to gorgeous wood panelling you’ll feel like you’ve time traveled to the jazz age when you walk through the door.

We’re suckers for a courtyard and Proud Henry’s has the one of the cutest we’ve ever seen – think warm candlelight, exquisite gin cocktails, and lush charcuterie plates. Next date sorted! If you really want to impress your next Tinder or Bumble match take one of the upcoming GIN 101 appreciation classes – you’ll school them in the world beyond the humble gin and tonic and have them swooning in the venue’s bentwood chairs. There’s even a monthly Gin Junkies Club (say it fast enough and people will think you’re a gym junkie – score!) The impressive wine list caters to rosé and pinot noir lovers alike, but it’s the array of gins that’s sure to get people talking. Want to impress your celeb-savvy friends? We’ve heard rumours they’re one of the only venues in Brisbane stocking the Instagram famous, Margot Robbie approved, lilac coloured boutique Ink Gin from Tweed Heads. Hello likes! Beautiful venue? Check. Delicious food? Check. An array of the world’s best gins? Double check. If we were Henry, we’d be proud too. Words by Lucinda Kent
