The new installation will be on display in the Atrium on Podium Level 1 from 19 August to 2 October, inviting audiences to experience the festival in playful and unexpected ways.
Presented as part of the Craig & Karl: Public Art Trail for Brisbane Festival 2025, Matey’s: Diny & George joins a citywide takeover of the duo’s signature inflatables, known for their simplified expressive features, geometric forms, and bold patterns. At Brisbane Quarter, the characters Diny and George take shape as companions for the community—sparking connection and moments of wonder within the bustling heart of the city.

Adding another layer of immersion, Craig & Karl have collaborated with digital artist David McLeod to create a vibrant animation inspired by the city’s defining qualities—from the river and skyline to its rich culture and community. Abstract shapes and dynamic motion bring the festival’s diverse program of music, dance, art, and performance to life in a unique digital form.
Born in Brisbane and now based in New York and London, Craig & Karl have established a global reputation across design, illustration, and installation. Their return for Brisbane Festival marks a celebration of homegrown talent that resonates worldwide.
