Holy crepe, we’ve gone more than a little crazy for Miss Claude’s Crepes! Following an age-old family recipe from Normandy, Miss Claude’s Crepes serve up some of the best French crepes this side of the equator. The best part – they even do them gluten free!
No matter what we have a craving for when we hit the Eat Street Markets, Miss Claude has a crepe to satisfy, with sweet and savoury treats. Need an evening pick-me-up? You might um and ah over salted caramel and Nutella, but catch the stall on a day with one of their indulgent specials on the menu and you could just be drooling over lemon meringue crepes stuffed with lemon curd, raspberry coulis, vanilla ice cream and mini meringues or combining caffeine and crepe with a coffee crème patissiere stuffed crepe, coffee caramel sauce and ice cream!
For those already feeling a sugar rush just hearing about the specials, the savoury crepes are equally as satisfying and far less likely to result in diabetes. Try the meat lovers, an aptly named crepe for the carnivores filled with BBQ duck, pulled pork, bacon, caramelised onion, tasty cheese and a bourbon BBQ sauce. If you aren’t quite in need of all that protein, the new Monte Carlo is a really special special stuffed with French toast chicken, triple brie cheese, sauté mushroom, caramelised onion, spinach and garlic aioli. We were sold at triple brie.
So don’t get crepey next time you’ve got a hanger for some French fare, head town to the Eat Street Markets on a Friday or Saturday night from 4-10pm and pick up a sweet or savoury roll of warm, fluffy goodness. To pick your crepe of choice in advance and check out Miss Claude’s Crepes weekly specials, hit up their Facebook page.
